In short: Great Race but Parking was a nightmare! In full: Entered the half marathon and followed the instructions that were sent to me with regard to parking. Got within a mile of the parking area about 45 mins before the start of the race however we (me and my girlfriend who was watching) could not get near the carpark or find the enterance - neither was clearly marked - fortunatly my g/f dropped me close to the start and I made it to the start only because they delayed the race start time from 9:30am to 9:40am - from what my g/f says others were not so lucky and were still driving around trying to find parking after the race had started.
The race was good and scenic, very hilly which seemed to go up but not down!? Lots of water stations but some were pretty chaotic. Medal was nice but id expect that for the £30+ entry fee
Not sure Id do this race again unless they sorted out the parking - my tip for next year would be to plan to arrive at least an hour before the start. Date of review: September 27, 2009

In short: Helped me raise a lot of money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust In full: The sun shone constantly so I felt a bit warm, but it brought out the spectators! The course has been redesigned to avoid traffic, so it was a pity that the narrow lanes were congested with even a camper van at about 11 miles. It was impossible to run fast at that point, and had I been one of the elites I would have been annoyed! However, all in all it was well organised and enjoyable. It helped me raise £1161 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Date of review: September 30, 2008

In short: beautiful place to run, a bit pricey for what you got at the end. In full: all in all it was a great event with smashing scenery and a good atmosphere. Thanks to the lady who missed her drink and encouraged me in the final miles. Some of the water stations struggled to keep up with the demand which was a shame and the entry fee was on the high side considering you had to buy your t-shirt seperately. I'd probably do it again though. Date of review: September 28, 2008

In short: Good course, scenery keeps you distracted from hills In full: This was my first half, having done the Great South Run last year. Having read the reviews I was worried about the hills, and driving round the course beforehand didn't help! I encorporated some hills into my training but glad to say on the day didn't even really notice them, just concentrated on the scenery! Compared to the Great South Run, there was much less support round the course (which is understandable) so not so good if you're struggling. It wasn't clear to me where the finish line was as the course bent off the road and into the school at the last minute so I didn't sprint as much as I could've done for fear of going too soon. Water stations were a bit haphazard but didn't slow me down at all. There is limited oportunity for spectators to see you(unlike the great south where my fiancee saw me 3 times)and no entertainment for them whilst waiting. Overall I enjoyed myself more than I thought I would and would consider it again next year Date of review: September 28, 2008
