In short: Very enjoyable marathon
In full: The very fast course attracts some very fast runners (well compared to me anyway!) so I would agree with a previous review about it be lonely for the slower runners compared to a lot of marathons. The organisation was very good. Plenty of drink stations and supportive marshalls. The route was a lot more scenic than I expected. The walk back to the car was longer than you want after 26.2 miles!

In short: Fast, flat and superbly organised.
In full: If I have one gripe it is that I could have spent less time running through industrial parks. That said I realise that they might be hard to avoid and are easy to marshal - probably a significant factor in a race of this size. Big thank you to all the marshals and organisers!

In short: Great race - Great PB potential
In full: Only build is extra water stops in last 6 miles - became very dehydrated in the last few miles and could have done with extra water.

Simply the best marathon I have done.... brlliant

In short: chilly start - warm glow at thefinish
In full: freezing cold start - soon warmed up, course was well organised with good support from the marshalls. Course is a little dull - going up and down the kerb on the footpaths was not my idea of fun (my usual races are x-country) but for speed this is a great race - having removed the hills from my usual races I chipped 30 minutes of my PB - so the race did what it was suppose to do.

In short: Fast course with great organisation
In full: This is a flat course so definitely one for a PB- I managed to knock 15 mins off mine! The majority of the course is through nice countryside with a small section through an industrial park which perhaps isn't as nice but there was great support from the water/feed station to push you along. Organisation was fantastic- started on time and there were plenty of marshals along the entire course who did a brilliant job of cheering you on and controlling the traffic. Water stations were frequent- I think every 3 miles, maybe closer than that and there was bottled lucozade at around mile 14/23 (it did state in the leaflet sent in the post that these would be at miles 12 & 21 though). All in all this was a great race and I will definitely do this again. The only bad thing was how freezing it was but I can't hold that against the organisers!

In short: I said never again lastyear.
In full: All aspects of the organisation was spot on, the Marshalls were excellent and plenty of water stations. Its just the course doesn't do it for, I can't put my finger on it why but I run faster on much harder courses. It's just down to personal preference don't let me put you off, it's a great Marathon for first timers and vets alike. See you next year!

In short: Fantastic first marathon
In full: My first marathon. I'd love to say I enjoyed every minute, but the last five miles were not funny (at the time).

Absolutely excellent organisation, I would like to give special thanks to the feed station at 11 and 20 miles, making so much noise it cheered me up no end, and the lady marshall with the ghetto blaster, but all the marshalls and helpers did a fantastic job. Thank you very much!

This race really is perfect for beginners, with very few inclines.

My only sad point is that I appear to have missed out on a t shirt in my exhaustion at the end...

In short: Great race, full of friendly runners. This is a PB course!!
In full: I came in at 3:05 and was on on for 3:00 until about 23 miles although the rot set in at 20 miles. Got running with a friendly group from about mile 15 through to 20 odd and we all just plodded the miles out at sub 3 pace, unfortunately only 1 guy made it to sub 3!!
Really friendly people, race organisation did everything you need. Yes cups aren't ideal but they were every 3 miles so not a real nightmare.

Only idea for next year: It took me about 25 minutes to walk back to the car park at Abingdon college with very sore legs, I would have happily paid £3 or so for a shuttle bus to get me back. Might be some more money to be made for the Rotary Club.
