In short: A great event, tough it really is but it is so well run and supported. In full: This had it all, thank goodness it wasn't too hot, those steps are real killers and when you know you have more to come.... some great runs through the woods, plenty of water stops with sweets. Marshalls were brillient, very supportive. From starting with God Save the Queen to finishing with applause and a real picnic this has to be the best run I have ever done.

In short: Hard Hard Hard!! In full: This was a fantastic event which, despite being incredibly tough, had a real feel-good atmosphere thanks mainly to the comradeship of the other runners and the excellent marshalls who were always there with a smile and encouragement. Thanks Dr Rob for a great race and I'll be back in 2011 for the next one. Date of review: June 21, 2009

In short: Do it again like a shot!! Great race! In full: Tough tough tough but well worth it! The marshalls are fantastic and pretty much the whole entry list supports each other. Altough there were a few times that I could only manage a thumbs up. Photographers were also great. If you do maathons then you must try the toughest in the country, it's just a must! Really good fun and a race to make you smile with happiness for the whole summer- or at least until you try to walk!

In short: UK's toughest marathon - takes courage to complete it! In full: Box Hill in Surrey was glorious in a warm midsummer Saturday - Rob got everyone to sing God Save The Queen a nd advised us to save some for the 2nd lap - running on flat roads is easy - try this course its physically, mentally demanding - but there are some glorious downhill sections especially the finish . Brilliant atmosphere from the support of the fellow runners and all marshalls - you come away felling knackered but elated at the sense of achievement - I'll be back in 2010 to improve on my Picnic PB (1st). Big shout to Mike 100 club who was doing his 99th marathon - who had more rabbitt than sainsburys !! What a laugh. Gaz (marathon training) vest !!! Date of review: June 21, 2009

In short: Had its ups and downs! - One step at a time! In full: Completely barmy from start to finish. 26.2 miles of strength sapping, leg cramping, mind bending, thirst making, brain tingling, bone jangling, foot blistering, mind numbing, stair climbing, good humoured, well organised fun - wouldn't have missed it for the world. Decided to sleep downstairs for a couple of nights! Date of review: June 21, 2009
