In short: Nice race route, but prefered the flatter old one.
In full: Well organised event, As organiser said in his review, not enough toilets at start. Not keen on being funneled throw castles gate, but appreciate reasons for it and large events will always be compromised at starts. Overall a nice race to do, but not, for me as nice route as previous. Why change a good fast flat course to hilly one!!

In short: Excellent race
In full: Mike James and all his staff on the day should be well chuffed with themselves for organizing a brilliant event. It was my first half marathon and was a bit nervous but all that was brushed aside when i felt the atmosphere from all the event organizers and competitors. I did get a parking ticket which is my only gripe but even that didnt bother me after such a good day. Some impatient drivers were a bit of a concern but no problems were had from my experience on route. I was really chuffed with the fantastic quality t shirt and medal at the end and loved coming into the Sheepmount stadium to do the lap to the finish with all the crowds urging you on. I will definatley be back next year to do it again and can recommend this event to all runners, beginners or athletes. Well done again Mike to you and all your staff and thanx for an amazing day, look forward to next year and please dont change the route.

In full: the last time i run this was when it was know as the brampton to carlisle, many moons ago.

this run was the best organised event i have ever attended. it was just flawless. if i ever organised an event, i would be asking the organisers of this run for advice.

In short: My 7th HM and most definately THE BEST. Well Done Organisers
In full: What a brilliant run. Very well organised, cheap parking (£1-50 all day) and plenty of it, Great Medal and T-shirt. The course was very picturesque. There were more hills than I thought but somehow it was still a very fast course. I broke my PB by 5 minutes and almost cracked the 2hour barrier (defo next year). Loved starting at the castle and finishing with lap of the running track, makes you feel special. Please do not change this course as it works really well. I read Mikes own review and I think he is a little harsh on himself. This was an amazing day. My kids came along and took part in the fun run plus entertainment which stopped them getting bored while waiting for me. Keep the fun run time during the main event. Only minus for me was no drinks at the start. On route water stations perfectly placed. I could go on forever with good points. I guarantee I will be back next year.

In short: My first organised run, and first time running 13.1 miles. Fantastic event, and the crowd/marshalls were really encouraging - made me smile most of the way round!

In short: A great event has become even better
In full: I really enjoyed this years event. Loved the new course, takes you through a couple of quaint little villages. Great organisation and friendliness throughout. Quality t-shirt. I like having changing facilities, lockers and showers - makes the whole day very civilised!
Well done Mike, I know you have a couple of things you want to improve on but don't change the course.
