In short: Hard but Fair!
In full: Apart from the stopping at the start, which cause it was my first cross country I wasn't prepared for, it was a really enjoyable race, although definately not for beginners! Scenery at 9 miles really takes your mind off your muscles which are pumping battery acid at that point. Support from water stations was inspiring. Will be back next year with better training!

In short: up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down......but mega nice race
In full: nice hot day which added spice to the course. support along the way was fantastic and one of the best marshalled races i have seen in a while, plenty of water and juice stations. The organisers recommended you aim for +15% on your 1/2 average and they were not wrong. I chatted to a few fellow 1.40 guys and we agreed to do inside 2 hours would be great on this course. the view at 9 miles at the fort was uplifting and i wish i had taken a camera!! See you next year

In short: The hills are alive with the sound of panting!
In full: A real hard run but well worth it. Was out of breath for most of it but did a respectable time. Great organisation and up for it again!

In short: This was so tough .. great scenery and superb marshalling though makes it worth while
In full: On the website it does say hilly, but that doesn't do it justice. The toughest race I've ever done, there didn't seem to be anything flat or even undulating woudlhave been nice. The marshalls and water stations were excellent and very supportive It was really good that the leaders passed you going the opposite way so you weren't lapped and could applaud them on. A great race, one that any who enjoys trails should do. The facilties at the start were excellent even if the showers were a tad cold by the time we finished!

In short: Not as hard as I expected!!
In full: Two days later I'm still a bit sore but definately worth it, they don't call it the slog for nothing, the weather was cooler than I hoped which helped lots. A ig thank you must go to all the people who help out especially the guys and girls at the drink stations who have to pick up all the cups!! Thanks for the stile the second time around!!

In short: Great course, good organisation, fantastic marshals
In full: Very well organised event with a scenic and challenging course with plenty of water available. Marshals were absolutely fantastic with their help, support and encouragement. Only negative was the congestion near the start but as its not a course for setting fast times that's not really an issue. Will definitely be back next year.
