In short: This race is attractive as it is possibly the fastest course in the South East. In full: This race is attractive as it is possibly the fastest course in the South East. PBs are the order of the day here. The event has a village green and community feel to it which is great. Parking is easy and very convenient. If the organisers can get at least double the people on the water particularly at mile 3 to make sure they can deal with the volume of runners coming through then I think they will have a great race. But having said that I will turn up next year as the speed of the course sells the race. Anyone concerned may wish to bring their own water supply to be sure of having enough. Thanks Lydd / Nice Work, see you next year. Date of review: March 14, 2010
In short: ok - but appalling they run out of water completely at 6 m check and at 3 m the water wasn't ready for us, so we had to go from 3 m to 10 m with no water - ir In full: I guess the frustration was the water - either say it will be there and provide it or say it won't and then we bring our own? In short: for event organisers they need to learn a bit In full: As most people have said the lack of water, as one of the back runners the 1st marshall was still struggling and i didnt even get a quarter of a cup, the 2nd was a full cup but the 3rd was a bit past where i would have like it, although they had loads so i made the most of it.. route to hq should have been better. they needed a start finish line, or even a megaphone so those of us at the back could tell when they started the race and not just see people run off.
howevr it was a nice flat run.
considering Nice-Work organise my clubs 10k (A&D) they did really well there so this was a dissapointment Date of review: March 14, 2010
In short: Friendly atmostphere and a nice race that needs some work In full: It's a race you want to support, but it really does need some work. It's great to increase the number of starters, but PLEASE get some portaloos. It's bad enough not being able to get a shower afterwards, but to queue up for loos and then find they have no paper?! There are basics that really are expected and it's not unreasonable to have some facilities. Water stations: as per the other comments, one poor young girl on the first one at 3M totally overwhelmed but certainly trying her best. Absolutely NO station at 6M as advsertised. Final station good, thank you to the nice young man helping his mum and walking towards the runners to hand out cups. Great marshalls! They do such a good job at every race, these volunteers who stand and cheer and give up their time to help us, THANK YOU. A lovely atmosphere for this event. People smiling, clapping and cheering for all the finishers no matter how late they came in, and lots of great support from the locals. This is a good course and event at the perfect time for planning the spring marathon. You deserve to do really well - we'll all come back next year and bring our friends too if you can make a couple of changes. Good luck and thanks again! Date of review: March 14, 2010
In short: nice race but needs a lot of improvement In full: a nice fast race, but thay need signs to the HQ, a start and finsh line, and a time clock. out of the 3 water stations. the first one was under manned, the second one vanishied and the third one was too little too late. In short: Extremely well organised In full: The marshalls were brilliant. Lots of water stations. Extremely well organised. Usual problem...big queues for toilets before the start. Date of review: March 14, 2010
In short: fast course, scenic but organisation bit lacking In full: Course is flat and fast, though the breeze made it hard work. Overall a good race across the marshes, but I'd agree with most of the comments on the organisation. Toilets were overworked (but guess the gents experienced what the ladies seem to face most races), lack of signs when arriving in the village (but the big green in a small place means you get there eventually) and lack of marshalls at the water stations. But I enjoyed, and the only reason I'd hesitate to return is that the long drive from Essex meant an early Sunday start. Date of review: March 14, 2010
In short: could be a fantastic run but organisers needs to step up a level In full: easy to run, good parking and def PB potential but not enough toilet/changing facilities.also no proper start/finish line/clock etc.could do with chip timing as well considering its a fast race Date of review: March 14, 2010
In short: Good, flat route. Too few toilets. In full: Nice scenic, flat, fast route. Marred by lack of toilets at start, a couple of port-a-loos to supplement wouldn't have cost much! Ideally there would have been more people manning the water stations but OK. Date of review: March 14, 2010
