In short: This was my first marathon in 2011 and came back to it this year. It far outstretches the experience of other marathons I have done in-between (albeit not many) highly recommend this one

In short: PB by 10 minutes - it must have been good!
In full: Well organised, great support all the way by marshalls, waterstop attendants and bystanders. Well stocked and frequent hydration/energy points along the way. Long sleeved tech T shirt will be much used over winter. A few more 'undulations' than I was expecting!

In short: Perfect organisation, scenery, and weather. - Hilliest "Flat Course" I've done but still a PB.

In short: Scenic, flattish, clumps of local support, well organised
In full: I enjoyed this marathon, well organised, great set up at base, fab setting and chance to run fast. Felt it lacked the atmosphere of Edinburgh earlier in year - more serious with fewer costumes, fewer supporters along route and a lot less chat. Running stalls in tented village had some fab kit bargains on trainers and clothes tho!

In full: Almost perfect race. The only thing I can complain about is the cold water in the showers. And one more message for organizers - please don't claim something what is not truth in front of 3000 people - Chester marathon is not the only marathon in the world run in two countries.
I will definitelly recommend this race to all runners from beginners to PB-improvers.
Oh, and special thanks to all the marshals round the course.

In short: Swore it would be my first and last, I may change my mind
In full: This was my first marathon, I swore beforehand it would also be my last. I entered it for the challenge of the distance, to say that I had done it. I loved it. It hurt, as any run over this distance would, but I loved it. Scenery was nice, not many hills, nice rolling landscapes. Not many spectators over the race, but when they were there they were brilliant! The finish was fantastic, lots of spectators here cheering you on and lots of finishers cheering you too! It had that personal feel to it and crossing the line was just brilliant. If I was going to do another, this would be it.
