In short: Ok - but not for the claustrophobic!
In full: A very well organised race!
The Red Arrows were superb, and timed just perfect as we came off the bridge and the crowds at South Sheilds just fab!
But surrounded by too many runners, meant I couldn't get into a rhythm for the whole race - having to dodge around fellow runners and walkers right up to the finish. (I knew this could be a problem due to the size of the event, but didn't imagine it would be for the entire race.)
And sorry too expensive to run it again.

In short: Well organised but runners let themselves down
In full: Hats off to the organisers they do a great job putting on such a big race but I have to say the runners let them down. They have a great system at the start but if people start to walk in the 'middle of the road' from mile 1 then they obviously haven't started in the right place. Also, the disregard show to other runs by throwing bottles and tops into the middle of the road is staggering, don't these people read about the injuries this causes (hard work running with sticky trainers after the lucosade stops).

Not sure what the organisers could do but the A1 just can't handle the race (I couldn't face that journet again).

That said there are some good bits - the atmosphere on the first 2 miles was great, Sir Bobby was a star and the red arrows flying over the bridge is amazing.

Overall I would say the race (like London) is a great spectacle but be prepared to suffer because of the selfsih attitude of other runners.

In short: great race, fantastic atmosphere with superb crowd support
In full: as usual there was a lot of people walking before they were anywhere near the tyne bridge infact i passed walkers within a few 100 metres of crossing the start line. i know there is a big emphasis on charity with this race and i to was running for a charity but i also had a target of running under 1h 30 and these people who walk as soon as they cross the start line spoil it for other people
