In short: Great crowd, easy to get to, fast and flat
In full: This was my first half in 2009, after running it 3 times now and doing plenty of other events I really appreciate this great run.

In short: Much better than I expected
In full: First time I've done the Bath Half . Aside from the usual big city race issues (toilets, bottlenecks etc) no major organisational problems, though the (20 minute) queue to actually get to the start from the village was a bore and led to many of us doing the half marathon slalom for the first 2 miles. People of Bath can congratulate themselves, great support in the city. Also the funk band toward the end of the lap..brilliant. I'd recommend this, especially to those (like me) who have been put off by RW ratings from past races.

In short: Very crowded!
In full: There were far too many participants, making what would be an otherwise well-organised race pretty slow in getting competitors through the start and finish.
The crowded feel extended to the supporters, who were surrounding the course for the first two hours. For this reason, I would recommend it to beginners who would like the moral support, but not ABSOLUTE beginners who expect to be running it in more than 2hr 45 min.
Not a beautiful course; nice in some places, but there is a quiet stretch along some dreary industrial bits.
Goody bag at the end was respectable - magazine, Mars bar, couple of snack bars, blister plasters, T-shirt - but nothing special. Although they did run out of medium T-shirts for all of us towards the back end of the race!!

In short: Really enjoyed it. The support was great.
In full: Wasn't sure what to expect having never done a multi lap half marathon before but really enjoyed the day. I think I was lucky as the organisation worked like clockwork for me which made the whole day so much more enjoyable.

In short: Great atmosphere, average scenery
In full: My first half. The support from the crowd and the officials was great; lots of inspiration. Scenery could be more inspiring, but then it has to be a practical route, which limits selection a bit. A long time waiting for the start, if you went up when called, but I suppose with so many runners that's unavoidable. All in all a good day out.

In short: Now my favourite race of the year.
In full: I have done this 5 out of the last 6 years and it has become my favourite race of the year. The support along the route is brilliant.

However if we get another wet year I can see it be a bit of a diasater like I have seen in the past. Love the music along the route. Would be great if more could be set up.

In short: Great races but course could be tweeked
In full: Fantastically run race got a PB so im happy. However the build up scared me a little with most letters etc from the race putting me off drving or going on the bus or indeed turning up to the race! Also there is a very long straight dull road with little supporters from miles 10-12 which was really tough. but good race
