In short: Gently craggy in profile but uplifting too with silky smooth organization.
In full: Found it gently craggy in profile rather than undulating. This combined with some rougher patches underfoot came as a bit of a surprise! But it did serve to keep my brain awake which was otherwise massaged gently by the rhythm and beauty of these hills. Great organization and fantastically rewarding for a first-timer at this distance.

In full: Really enjoyed the Surrey Badger. It was well organised, with friendly marshalls and a good atmosphere. The route was also really good with the variety. I'd definately do it again, and recommend it to anyone keen for a half.

In short: Hilly but fantastic
In full: This is my second year in doing this race and I will be back next year !! Organisation, marshalls, goodie bag etc were all brill. Its a race of two halves the going up and the coming down. Excellent prep for Autumn marathons. Well done to everyone involved.

In short: Tough course. More like hilly/hilly than flat/hilly as described.
In full: Very well organised. Marshalls were great. Goody bags were fab - can't argue with free beer! Scenery was ok, maybe I'm spoilt but it didn't compare to the Hard As Snails 10k a couple of weeks earlier. Not a fan of routes that double back for 5 miles or so. Also going downhill on rocks and concrete is not great for the knees. May be back next year, maybe not.

In short: Good? One of the runners in front of me stopped to take numerous photos - that good
In full: This run uses tracks and trails around Norbury in hilly parkland and woodland. Yes it is hilly but the views are worth it. It also happens to be my training ground. It was nice to see a runner stop numerous times to take photos when the views opened up; I get to run on this all the time.

You won't set a PB when compared to flat industrial estate but it will be a lot more fun. Plenty of drinks stations, well marshalled and signed. Friendly atmosphere, great race.

In short: A challenging first half marathon!
In full: A very well organised race, plenty of marshalls along the route who gave us a much needed boost every mile or so...route was well signposted so you couldnt go wrong, mostly traffic free through amazing countryside (with countryside sized hills to go with it!) really beautiful around Bocketts Farm which helped take my mind off the pain! Whilst this race was much much harder than i had expected with much bigger hills the event was excellent - and the goodie bag and ale at the end were definately a highlight! thank you to all involved.
