In short: Superb race, friendly, challenging, fun and brilliant for the whole family
In full: I did this race last year and did not hesitate on coming back. I live locally so it was easy to walk to the race. This is a race for the whole family. The race itself is scenic and challenging with a few gates and bridges over the river. Lovely views as you run out along the river and back. Organisation is superb and while I was out running the kids had their own race getting their own medals and T-shirts and then had a game of football with some other kids so really was a family occassion. The BBQ was nice afterwards as well so it really made the whole event a great occassion. Marshalls were brilliant and really encouraging. Certainly one for the yearly calendar. Well done Purple Patch, all for a great cause as well.

In short: Lovely scenery, well organised, great marshalls.
In full: Probably not a pb course but a lovely way to see some great sights. Most of the marshalls were brilliant. Also nice for a training run/race as lots of it is off road so you aren't pounding yourself. Recommended!

In short: A flat half marathon with a bit of everything except hills
In full: I arrived about 40 minutes before the start, and the parking was well organised and close to the venue. The lawns of Bisham Abbey were a lovely location, inviting warm-up jogs down to the bank of the Thames. Baggage drop was orderly and cleverly contracted out to a removal company. The race was well marshalled with plenty of water stations, and the riverside route was a joy, including the trip up and over the bridges at Hurley Lock. It was a toss-up over what shoes to wear, and I think the organisers got it right recommending trail shoes - I know the area and I only decided on trail shoes the night before, because of a second night of heavy rain.
The medal is a good one, but I can live without yet another cheap race T-shirt. The Snow & Rock G3 series had a great idea in my opinion - no goodies but free photos via a deal with one of the professional photography companies.
I think I have also become so used to chip timings, especially at bigger races, that it felt odd being timed by hand.
Still, a lovely race, a sunny day, and I'm glad I chose it ahead of running Reading or Fleet this year.

In short: Loved It! One of the best races ever!
In full: My legs ache with pleasure this evening after completing this wonderful half. The organisation was superb with the race going off bang on time. The route was lovely taking in some wonderful scenery along the Thames. The terrain was challenging with quite a few gates early on and three bridges to negotiate. These were repeated in the last few miles too to add to the challenge. Finally the marshals and support was amazing, every marshal smiled and cheered you on, the drummers and volunteers were so enthusiastic.

This was the 3rd out of 4 halfs I am running in March and it certainly uplifted my challenge.

Will be back!

In short: Superb event, great scenery and support
In full: I really enjoyed this half marathon, wonderful atmosphere - well done to the organisers! A challenging (but not too taxing) multi-terrain route through gates (causing a small delay early on), over bridges and on various surfaces - a real treat with the friendly marshalls and the drummers made my day!
