In short: A great marathon to cap the year off with.
In full: Everything within the organiser's control was spot on. Directions to race venue, car parking, venue facilities, course signage, marshalling, policing, water stations - were all faultless. Medal was of high quality, with free t-shirt and goodie bag - excellent value.

Problem with having this event in December is the potential for bad weather. I don't mind rain, but the windy conditions battered me to a standstill. The first lap took its toll, and although I used a couple of relay runners as wind-breaks on lap 2, there was no hiding place on lap 3 which resulted in a torturous mix of run/staggering/walking.

Love the three lap format, but it's made more mentally demanding if the weather conditions are as bad today.

Thanks to Dunstable Road Runners and Stopsley Striders, and I'll be back with my rabbit's foot to wish for kinder weather in 2008!

In short: Very well organised. Special thanks to the marshalls for their encouragement . The weather made the course particularly challenging this year. I'll be back next year.

In short: Well organized, excellant marshalls, just a sham about the horrible weather
In full: I can't say I enjoyed it, but the main reason was out of the organizers hands and made this a particularly challenging marathon given the conditions. Organisaztion was good and it's always good to see enthusiastic marshalls, especially as they must have been soaking wet and freezing cold for 4 hours. Would have been nice to have some refreshments in the main hall after the race, rather than make us climb the stairway to heaven to find the a cafe.

In short: Really well organised - shame about the rotten weather!
In full: The weather (which the organisers can do nothing about of course) was so bad as to be almost comical! Strong wind and heavy rain literally took your breath away ... just when you needed it most (i.e. hills!)

The race itself was very slickly organised. This was my second ever relay and the organisers of the first one I did earlier this year could learn a great deal from Luton. I was very impressed and the friendly, encouraging marshalls really helped to up the enjoyment level several notches, much needed as local support was thin on the ground due to the grim weather - many thanks guys!

Glad I only did a relay leg though! I'm in absolute awe of those who did the full ... I certainly couldn't have!

In short: Great marshals (THANKS FOR STANDING IN THE RAIN!!).
In full: Ran the relay last year, enjoyed it a lot so ran the full marathon this year. Well marshaled, they gave great encouragment and support. Organisation was spot on.Having relay runners coming in each lap helped to pull me along and ment you saw new faces every lap. Ran a great PB today, shows it can be a PB course!! Bad weather took your mind of the distance!! Back again next year (hopefully for another PB).

In short: Well organised and a real marathon challenge
In full: The marshals deserve the medals - 5plus hours in the cold, wet, wind - well done. This was the 12th marathon I've done and by far the biggest test. Hilly and poor weather conditions. Well done, again, to the marshalls.

In short: Excellent Marshals
In full: What a shame about the weather! A big thanks those to the organisers and the marshals. There were plenty, and always willing to share a joke and give some encouragement.
It was a shame that we only appeared to have access to some of the showers, and that the tea and coffee stand had shut by the time I hoppled over from the finish. I'll have to go back because on a nicer day a good time is definately a possibility.
Thanks for an excellent event.

In short: Very well organised race, shame the organisers had no control over the weather too!
In full: Great fun running as part of a relay team over the distance. Well done to all those who did the full marathon - 3 laps is tough especially in the horrific weather conditions. Very well organised race, so well done Luton. Thanks to police and marshalls and those on water stations for doing a great job too. Will be back for relay next year, but not sure I could do the whole marathon distance on this course!
