In short: Undulating varied course which you can run quickly on In full: Both my wife and I managed to hit PBs today so this is definitely a course you can run quickly on if the legs are fired-up enough. That said, it is not an easy course, and the first 3 miles feel quite uphill. The scenery is varied and keeps your interest, and the organisation was reasonably good. More toilets (or at least better signage on arrival at the top of the market place to mark where the toilets that are there are!) would be better, but the race was away on time and well marshalled/organised throughout. A nice autumnal half marathon. Date of review: October 31, 2010

In short: This was my 2nd half marathon and really enjoyed it, but the first 4 mies of the race are very hilly in fact the 1st mile is a very tough climb but having said that I really enjoyed it and will definitely be back next year Date of review: October 31, 2010

In short: magnificent scenery and nice challenging run In full: this was my fifth marathon event in seven weeks and I certainly felt it today. However, this was a really well organised event. Despite my wear and tear I did enjoy it. The route goes through some absolutely beautiful areas. The course is quick and had a good amount of uphill and downhill. Nice quirky t-shirt and a race I would definetely run again Date of review: October 31, 2010

In short: Great Half-Marathon through beautiful scenary In full: This was my first half-marathon and despite running out of stream at 11 miles I throughly enjoyed it. There was no major problems and the pre race info (regarding parking etc) was excellent. Loved the chip timing and the fact it was traffic free. Afterwards it was great to be emailed a link to photos taken on the day.
Having your name on the back of the t-shirt (if you entered early enough) was a nice touch but personally I'd still prefer a medal!
Thanks to all the marshalls, organisers etc. Heres to next year! Date of review: November 3, 2009

In short: Great autumn race with PB potential In full: A little hilly in early miles but nothing to be unduly worried about, especially with the last mile being downhill. Number collection on the day was no problem. Roads mostly completely closed off & Clumber Park looked great in the sun. Will be back & recommend to others Date of review: November 1, 2009

In full: Well organised start. Good course which challenges the beginner, Marshalls could have been more encoraging some just looked bored and were talking to each other and not really showing much interest. No water for slower runners at final water station which was disappointing. Date of review: October 29, 2009

In short: Thumbs up again! Friendly, great scenery and challenging course! In full: Love coming back to this - have been travelling from Wales over the last few years for this race. It's definitely the scenic one once you get through the climb in the first mile. It's well organised from beginning to end and commands friendliness compared to big city half marathons. It's excellent value for money too. Have no issues with the water stops or cups, maybe its due to years of practice at this event! Definitely one to try if you want to do a half. In short: Good scenic run with plenty to keep you interested In full: Well organised & a nice course. A few hills but - without the strong winds - there could be pb potential for some. Date of review: October 28, 2009
