In short: Not for the light hearted
In full: Not a great event for the beginner. Sweep vehicle telling me that i may not get any more water, am not insured and its my "last chance" to get in vehicle was truly horrid and upsetting and happened far too early in the race to be excusable.
Lovely scenery, lots of hills, no tracks sadly which considering the area was a shame

In short: A pleasant race, lots of marshals and good crowd support
In full: A pleasant run, more undulating than I'd expected but good crowd support and lots of marshalls. It was hot so perhaps could've done with more water stations. Quite pricey to enter and although there was a 'free' hog roast afterwards, had to queue for a v long time and very little food left by the time we got there. Overall, a nice run-thank you.

In short: Made those at the back feel very bad, rubbish motivation from the organiserss
In full: At 1h 50 mins we were 8 miles in and absolutely fine, with 3 and a half hours to go before the course closed, yet we were approached by a 'sweep' vehicle, asked for our numbers and asked if we would like to retire as it was our last chance!!!! What kind of motivation was that supposed to be? My partner was then handed a piece of paper telling us we had limited time and then we weren't insured. The 'sweep' vehicle was then in front of us for two miles - so off putting and for a first timer like me really disheartening. Such a bad show from the organisers. Incidentally - my first time, my partners umpteenth half marathon - so I do have a clue what they should be like!! If I hdn't had him with me I could have been tempted to quit because they made me feel so poor.

In short: Average organisation, reies on great scenery to attract entrants. Rubbish water stations apart from last one. Not value for money.a
In full: First 2 drink stations were appalling, station 1 was still putting out cups and I was only in the middle of the field. Station 2 was only slightly better and that was 30 minutes AFTER the start. No goody bag.

In short: 2nd time round just as good!
In full: I do love this race!
Scenery is fantastic, ideal distraction from any aches or pains ;-D
Water/sponge station appear just when you needed them.

This year, we had a close encounter with a horse. A little startling but all the more special and memorable!
People very friendly, and great spectators around the course.

Although the Fleet Half may be everso slightly easier, New Forest wins everytime, hills and all.

In short: The scenary made up for the lack of negatives
In full: I enjoied the race being my first half, and the scenary was great, a couple of wild ponies trotted past which was nice. The lack of water on one station made it difficult plus towards the end cars were still about on the road. Didn't think it was well organised, having to wait 10 minutes to get a re-used plastic cup of water was not ideal towards the end, and then drink machines were out of order, so I couldn't purchase a drink either. Not sure if I'd do it again, but it was a challenging race with great hills and the spectators were great!

In short: good race and very scenic
In full: The scenary makes this race special, and was ok organised. I appreciate that it is organised by volunteers giving up their free time, however there were some niggles, like being sent the wrong way, having to get the attention of marshals to get directions etc...which could be improved on
