In short: the hills! the hills! In full: this was great fun and very picturesque although the price you pay for this is the undulating terrain. very friendly and lots of support would definately do this agiain. Date of review: September 7, 2009
In short: I'm only here for the beer!.. In full: Lovely run with scenery to boot. Not sure about the baggage area, so used the car boot instead. Parking close by so was not an issue. Nice warm-up to the start, fairly hilly course, reminiscent of the Surrey Slog with the tracks and wild life. Then home to the finishing arch. Beer and a choice of sizes for the technical t-shirt with a useful goody bag, first class organisation all around. That beer tasted all the better for it being a Sunday morning and for having travelled 13.1 miles by foot. Another addition to my race diary for years to come. Date of review: September 6, 2009
In short: Thoroughly enjoyed last year and didn't diappoint again In full: Excellent vale for money when you take the contents of the goody bag into account. To echo other peoples comments superb encouragement from all marshalls round the course to help you up them hills. Excellent race. Date of review: September 6, 2009
In short: Challenging, but well organised and friendly atmosphere In full: I would echo the comments below, particularly regarding the drinks stations and marshalls. Thanks to everyone for helping. This is a stern test, but a lovely course and I am enjoying my Badger ale whilst writing! Date of review: September 6, 2009
In short: Hilly! But what goes up must come down too! In full: Thought the marshals were terrific, very friendly, always nice on a race with few spectators. Thank you too for not being too hot or raining :-) Date of review: September 6, 2009
In short: HILLY In full: Great organisation, plenty of friendly marshals. Lots of water stations. Brilliant goody bag, good value for money. The downside? I don't like to suffer and I don't like hills! But I am sure the memories of the hills will fade and I probably be back next year. Date of review: September 6, 2009
In short: Dont be fooled the hills are killer!! BUT, this has serious favourite race potential In full: My wife and I wanted to do this race as a pre Loch Ness Marahon race because of the hills to test how our traing is going. The race has fantastic, every marshal was enthusiastic, clapping and cheering. I loved the feeling this race gave me as it was Very well organised, superb goody bag, T-shirt, socks and even a beer!! The hills were MUCH harder than I expected but I love a good hill so I didnt mind.
I will be back next year...... Date of review: September 6, 2009
