In short: Tough Enough? Just right!!
In full: What a fantastic race ... similar sense of accomplishment to the London Marathon.

Full of great little touches that put this race WAY above all others ... my favourites ... your name on the number, easy number collection, plenty of parking, lots of toilets, start on time, national anthem, well marked course with tape and spray paint (including marking of horse left 'obsticles'), cheerful and supplortive marshals, ample water stations, well thought out course, fantastic medel and t shirt, great weather, cooked breakfast and there are loads more... The whole event ran like clockwork.

I'll be back next year ... although I think I'm going to have to be quick as this race will fill up quicker every year!

I still can't work out how a race all uphill one way can not be all downhill coming back! That hill at 12 miles was a killer!

Thank you to all who contributed to a great day.

Should be Runners World #1 next year

In short: Would I do this again ? Not maybe, a definite wholehearted " Yes ! "
In full: Really easy and convenient to get to the number collection was a breeze. The day was fair the breeze was still, an American won the wife carrying dash to haul away a keg. Before the main event preceded by the de facto English national anthem, not quite raucous though not muted. Surprisingly it didn't irritate me as much as I had planned.
Damn motorbikes a walker cursed as we fit runners passed several of both up for six, down the reverse back to the finish - same as the start - along rutted paths, trail shoes are the must. Muddy swills we skirted around their edges unless too wide, then we just leapt. Brave New World, shins and calves douched in glorious mud, we fell back down to the finish. Surrounded by forest, greeted by Veggie sausages, beans and toast, extra for omnivores the canteen was there, though it took a few of us some working out to stand square to it over there, signage in this regard could have been enhanced.
Rewarded by a drop-dead gorgeous medal, a mystical paperweight and a tech shirt, this was a hot race, just like that cute bird behind the till at Waterstones.

In short: Outstanding - Nice mix of ups & downs, stunning scenery, wonderfully organised
In full: My second year running this race. Challenging course, some tough uphills (and jarring downhills), nice route with amazing views at the half way point, thoroughly well organised as usual, jelly babies at the water stations, nice momento and personalised t-shirt, delicious fry up to finish. Great event, thanks to Dr Rob and the marshals
