In short: Great race for runners, shame about missing promised extras In full: I had an amazing time and was not prepared for the sheer craziness of the Turbo X zone ! Mud which on the surface is a bit sloppy becomes chest deep on stepping in ! Great camaraderie and spirit from others. Only downside was the lack of enough toilets, absence of any refreshments for spectators or runners (van broke down) and no 1000 Mile socks in my goody bag. Date of review: November 24, 2008

In short: I loved it! In full: My first time doing an adventure race so didn't know what to expect. All going fine until mile 8 and the X zone! Dep, smelly mud, waist high water, but loads of support and camerarderie. Was looking forward to promised bacon butty at end (and 1000 mile socks in goody bag)but had to settle for a black banan instead! Date of review: November 23, 2008

In short: The essence isn't in the victory...it's in the struggle! In full: A very special race. A huge challenge for an ageing roadrunner, but so much fun and camaraderie, it made me smile when the going seemed impossible. At the end I looked like a monster from the bogs, but what an enjoyable run. The organisation was superb, from start to finish. The course set up, the marshalls, the water station, and the friendly "advice" in the x zone. I think the guy on the microphone before the start summed up the race perfectly..... wet, cold, slippy, hilly and very, very, muddy, perfect for you nutters!! Thanks again to everyone involved. Will be back next year for sure! Date of review: November 23, 2008

In short: Superb - highly recommended. First time for me, and it was easily the most enjoyable x-c event of the year. In full: After a mile, you didn't notice the sleet and freezing wind - the mud, water and 101 other obstacles were totally absorbing. It's a really challenging, satisfying event, which was well-organised, friendly and not too crowded. Three small-ish gripes: not enough loos, no catering (apparently the "van broke down") and no promised socks -but they couldn't spoil an excellent event. Date of review: November 23, 2008

In short: Thought I was on for PB after about 8 mile... In full: ...then we hit the turbo zone. Take the wrong line (which I did) and you're in waist deep mud that was near impossible to get out of. Marvellous. First time I've done a Turbo X event. I've already added them to my racing calender for next year. Date of review: November 23, 2008

In short: Awesome event. Even better course than the last one. Role on next year. In full: These guys put together some awesome races. If you like it tough and dirty you have got to be there. Date of review: November 23, 2008

In short: Banky rather than hilly but very very muddy In full: Quite a slow race with a lot of bottle necks. the second half of the race was much harder than the first and had to scramble up some of the slopes on all 4's due to the gradient. The bogs in the Turbo zone were evil and the mud stank Date of review: November 23, 2008

In short: Not to be missed ......... In full: Even boggier than the first running in May, a real challenge and so satisfying to finish. Hellruner or Grim are just a 'walk in the park' compared to this !! If you get the chance - do it! Brilliantly marshalled and coordinated as before (thanks everyone 'cos it was cold and wet). My only adverse observation - no 1000 mile socks in the goody bag as advertised ! Date of review: November 23, 2008
