In short: Extremely well organised, plenty of drink stations and energy drinks, well marshalled. Well done to all

In short: Nice race, not too good before the start, though
In full: Pleasant enough race. A good distance, good challenge and large and fast enough to be a worthwhile day out.

My major gripe, like many here, was related to the pre-race. Having travelled to the race from somewhere near enough to make the journey without needing a hotel, but too far to be considered local, I relied on the timetable printed in the race information to help me plan my morning (I got up at 4.30 for the race!). To ignore the published timetable and rush people - when the last shuttle bus hasn't even arrived - then leave folk shivering for fifty minutes because you've rushed everyone to get bags on trucks, get into pens etc made for a shambolic feel to the beginning of the race. This was a shame, because I really enjoyed the race - once I got going.

And what's the point of an organised warmup an hour before the start of a race? Any benefit of the warmup is surely gone by the start if that's the sort of delay.

In short: Well worth the trip to the Midlands.
In full: A good day out and a good atmosphere between the runners and the marshalls. Well supported in the towns. Got to be some gripes as ever though, the queues for the loos were ridiculous. The T-shirt was very poor indeed, non-technical and just looked cheap, the organisers missed out on a chance of good publicity here as it was the first kilomathon ever. I can't see many people wearing this top in training. Rest of the goody bag was impresive though.

In short: Great to be part of the First..
In full: It was regimented but I could see why, but that aside it was very well organised, even the personal touch of a text message at the end. Surely the point of this event is that it was the 1st and this will grow as will the crowds... This was great as the step up from a half marathon and a tester for pre marathon. Hope this continues next year.

In short: Where to start
In full: Some good and bad points to this race.
The good - marshalls were lovely, some of the roads were good to run on (nice and wide), and the woods were nice to run through. I also like the idea of running city to city.
The bad - For the race itself, too long in the pens (way too long), finish area too spread out to generate a real atmosphere. Outside of the race another issue is parking! Contrary to the fyler in my pack (stating I had left it till last minute!) I had planned (in advance) to park at showcase, and was let down by the last minute closure of this option!! Equally at the end of the race it was quite a walk back to buses and parking.
I've just tried leaving feedback on the kilomathon site, but found this very difficult, having to answer questions such as my salary etc before I could leave feedback. I'm sorry but this is unnecessary and 'over-managed', much like the start of the race with the commentator demanding we 'go the baggage trucks', 'go to the pens' etc. Consequently I wont be doing this race again. I dont want to be involved in organisations that try to force personal details from me. Especially as there are no disclaimers about what will happen to such data! Be warned, if you use the kilomathon site you may be opening yourself up to all sorts of advertising being sent your way!

In short: Decent event - and the distance suited me well. Will definitely do it again
In full: It was nice to be there at the first. I know the area so didn't feel at all let down by the lack of stupendous scenery. The course is fast and the distance was perfect for me. Organization was good, the shuttle bus in particular worked well - maybe I was lucky but I hooped straight on one at the beginning and the end. I do agree that we were kept standing around a bit longer than necessary at the start - longer, for example, than at the Robin Hood which has far more entrants. I am less inclined to agree regarding the cost. The medal and goody bag were both very good and there were quite a lot of roads which needed closing/careful marshalling.

In full: Apart from the monster wait for the toilets at the start it was a great race. Not to shabby goody bag either with a hefty medal. Good work!!!

In short: Good to be part of the first ever - but no more than that
In full: I think I agree with all other posts todate that the time from dropping your bags to racetime was far to long in a fairly open start area. Nice race but along way off the bigger types for atmosphere but maybe time will improve this. The course was fine mostly flat but lacked scenery.

In full: I thought that overall it was a fine day and race, however the few mongaloid brain dead idiots that thought it was OK to urinate in the front garden of the residents near the start will not give a good impression for the run to the locals!!! There were toilets and its not difficult to open a door and then slide the little handle accross. If you do have difficulty with simple tasks maybe you could get a friend to pull your pants down and hold it for you!!!!!

In short: World's first, but what else had it to offer?
In full: Sorry to be a wet blanket, but this didn't do it for me. It's not a city centre race and it's hardly scenic country side. It stated clearly it wasn't for fun runners, but there were no stars either. It's also probably the quietest race I've ever done, due to the lack of crowds for the majority of the course.

Not sure why I paid to use the bus, as no-one checked whether I had or not. They just seemed to make hard work of it, early start, hanging about, no parking etc.

It's probably useful if you're doing London next month, but other than it was the world's first, I didn't see much point to it, and won't be back next year.
