In short: A nice run in the country but the organisation could do with being a bit better! In full: The run itself was actually very nice apart from the hills, which were long and tough. With some seriously icy bits to negotiate too, especially the ford the several metres after it.
Parking was a mission with no marshalls or police to point you in the right direction and most of the surrounding roads being yellow-lined, ended up a mile away (good warm up).
Marshalling was sparse and not that encouraging apart from the two marshalls that were about 600m & 500m from the end.
The finish line was a complete balls up with a woman re-adjusting some ropes as I attempted to cross and managing to wrap one around my leg, costing me an extra 5-10 seconds as I tried to get to the mat. no idea what she was trying to achieve???
Chip timing was good and nice to have them removed and the mug & mars bar was a good idea, the mug has already been more use than any of my medals.
Put in a cracking PB too thanks to another DRR member too.
Would do it again, but the organisation leaves a lot to be desired. Date of review: January 31, 2010
