In short: Got much better towards the end In full: The weather didn't help, of course. Overall a nice and scenic race. A few moans, though: lack of toilet facilites - the 15 minute delay was VERY welcome! First two miles rather crowded. What I really didn't understand was that they expected you to pay for tea/coffee at the finish. Don't mind the money, but how many people carry cash with them during a race??? Which was a bit of a bummer - would have loved a cuppa there and then... Other than that: friendly, good course, especially the last 4 miles downhill - and wonderful showers! In short: Enjoyable and challenging but not too challenging In full: Very enjoyable race, would definately do again. Tough first 10 miles as almost all uphill (not steep just long) with a great fast final 3 miles. Was slightly concerned at how long it took for the medics took to get to the guy that collapsed close to the finish. Date of review: March 16, 2008
In short: Great scenary with excellent organisation. Well done to the marshalls and persons at the drinks stations who had to brave the conditions. Hope to be back next year. Date of review: March 16, 2008
In short: Fantastic route, atmospheric and friendly. Can't wait to do it in good weather! In full: What a course!! Even in the rain! So pleased I ran this and not Bath. I wish I lived nearer and could run this in training - I envy those that can! On-course marshalling was fantastic, and spectator turn-out amazing in that weather, thanks to you all. Only blip was having to wait 20 mins at the end for my park and ride. Would already be entering for next year if I could :-) Date of review: March 16, 2008
In short: Doubtfull at the start but loved it! In full: After the delayed start and the rather congested first couple of miles I wasn't expecting too much but I loved it and perhaps the mud and small rivers added to the enjoyment! Thanks to all involved in organising it. Date of review: March 16, 2008
In short: Muddy but FUN! In full: Wasn't totally in the mood for this, especially after the wait at the start but in the end I totally loved it. Well-organised (a secure, well-marked bag store would be good for next yr), hats off to the car-marshalls at green area!; slower first half, fast second half...loving the downhill!
Would definitely do it again, would be glorious in good weather. Date of review: March 16, 2008
