In short: Cheap local race in nice country park
In full: Blimey, I'd been warned about the killer hill at the beginning - to be honest, it wasn't that bad. The worst bit was the wind, but with a lovely autumn sun it was quite a pretty run through Clumber Park.
However, the 3rd water station was packed up when and seemed to have run out after 2 hours which was disappointing.
I wasn't sure about picking the numbers up on the day but it went quite smoothly, even though I'd forgotten to bring my number with me!
The finishers tshirt is unbelieavably yellow, I won't be wearing it near any wasps!

In short: Super race, Loved every bit of it!!!
In full: I am always dubious about collecting numbers on the day but this worked like clockwork due to the great organisation and superb people power! Other so-called superior race organisations should take note! Super course which keeps you on your toes, but is defo a pb course. Some long straights which make you know you hav done the 13 miles!!! Could not think of a better place to have an autumn race. Water stations well manned and good support from marshalls, also a nice town centre start and finish. Everyone was very helpful around the course, it is great to see a club putting on such a great race which must be one of the best value for money races in England. I love my T-shorts and this ranks highly. All i all absolutely superb race, well done Worksop Harriers!!

In short: More of an event than a race, excellant event - well done the club
In full: well organised, even picking up the numbers before turns this into a "running day out" good to meet up with people prior to the run, chariots of fire at the start is excellant and an great scienic course, around clumber and the down hill finnish is very welcome. Only improvement would be last drink station suffered from "tree bits" in the water, but blame the wind that day. Enjoy it more than the sheffield 1/2 marathon

In short: Good course but blatant sexism with the prizes!
In full: Mens prizes went up to 12th place.
Ladies prizes only up to 8th! What gives - we all ran the same course! And, yes, I did come 9th!

In short: Excellent course for PB potential
In full: I was suckered into doing this run by the pretext of my name of the back of a tshirt. I'd seen that it was a fairly flat course (there are no major hills at all) so was hopeful of a PB but even I didn't estimate shaving nearly 4 minutes off mine, finishing inside 1hr25. The downhill at the end was most welcome after the wind tunnel through the school. So, I'd recommend this race to all-comers, from veterans to first timers. It's a bargain too. Can we have a different colour tshirt to yellow next year please though?
