In short: Fantastic
In full: My first 10 miler and Great run, loved every minute of it, apart from the mud from the grassy areas. Weather was cold and wet but I was too excited to notice. Car parking on the Common wasnt a problem as after the race we changed in the car, put on some dry warm clothes and headed for Gunwharf Mews for some lunch. By the time we got back we made an easy exit and headed north up the motorway without any problem. Brilliant day - well done Paula for making it special!

In short: one of the best
In full: i thoroughly enjoyed this run, the time just disappeared along with the miles.
Great support and excellant marshalling.

Was I the only one when I opened my t-shirt to have one big smudge. Shames its unwearable/ First time this has ever happened looks as though it was folded while still warm from printing

In short: I'll be back for the fifth time next !
In full: I really enjoyed the Great South Run.It is my favourite run of the year the course is fast and flat. .The organization was great-despite - me being allocated a starting place in the Orange Zone A (not the Green Zone A).I used common sense and queried my allocation and was told to start in a more appropriate zone-which I did! The weather was poor for the third year in a row. However, I still managed to meet my target-for which I was really pleased. Keep up the good work organisers!

In short: a quick course for all levels of runners
In full: The course is flat and fast. It was well organised but should be for the price. My only moan was how slower runners were allocated to Orange A and B, some were jogging slowly and even walking after 2 miles and were clearly never going to be sub 90 minutes. It was good to see Paula win (well hearing that she had won). Overall an excellent event.

In short: My first 10miler and worth every step
In full: Setting a pb of 1:46 was fantastic as I wasn't expecting it. The atmosphere in the sports centre was welcoming. Only real complaint was that i couldn't get a decent breakfast anywhere. We were lead to believe that food would be available at the sports centre but all they had was sausage or bacon rolls and very little else.
That was the only low point for me. It was great to be able to have a shower and a swim afterwards. I really enjoyed it and hope to get a place next year.

In short: Great race despite madness in the method of start zone allocation
In full: The way the numbers were allocated within the sub sections of the starts was madness. I emailed the organisrs who confirmed that Orange wave is up to 90 minute runners, and that these runners were then randomly allocated A, B or C. Its complete madness, so a 65 minute runner who was placed in group C would have perhaps three thousand people to overtake! Luckily it was not strictly policed so people could apply the common sense that the Great Run people were lacking and start in the appropriate place. Apart from this and some peoples results going missing it is a well organised race. Brilliant atmosphere, great to have the bands and enthusiastic spectators despite the rain and wind. Huge PB potential - which could be even greater if this race gets good weather.

In short: Weather and cost downers but still fun.
In full: The organisers really need to sort the weather out is that too much to ask? ,-) Again an excellent race. I was worried the new wave system would mess everything up but I got close enough to the front before messing up my race! A PB nearly certain here. It is expensive bit well organised. If you don“t run many big races it is worth while as there is a good atmosphere and the pompey locals are good supporters.
