In short: Had its faults, but would do again. In full: Yep, I was disappointed by the lack of water (although I was carrying some of my own), especially at the finish. BUT - the route was good with nice views, the weather was perfect (cool and sunny). The wind was expected (it would have been better without the wind, but given the location, I thought we didn't do too bad). The start / finish was very spectator / child friendly, and parking wasn't a problem. My only real quibble was that as I came back to the Rype for the last lap, the next person was a minute in front of me, and it wasn't obvious whether I should have gone round the Rype or just head straight for the finish line (I had to ask a spectator). In short: Little bit disappointed with the drink stations as there should have been 3 andd there was only 2 and then they used cups and with the wind the water simply blew away. All other areas were well done. Date of review: March 9, 2009
In short: A bit windy In full: The wind was a pain on the run back but still managed a reasonable time. The water issue was unfortunate, especially at the finish where a bottle would have been appreciated. I also appeared to 'miss' the mileage markers at 7 and 8 miles.
One other point was the fact that hastings is a week later and it would perhaps make sense to organise this race at a different time. Date of review: March 9, 2009
In short: Worth doing once if only for the PB potential In full: Difficult to know where to start with this one, if you,ve never organised a race before think carefully before you have a go at those that do. However the water problem was a disgrace and the marshalls looked like they were there under sufferance. For all that if the wind hadnt blown i would probably have had a new pb. The out and back route was boring, perhaps a circular route would be more interesting. Date of review: March 8, 2009
In short: Great event let down only by the famous Marsh winds! In full: I enjoyed the event. To runners whinging about water I would recommend if they are that dependent on getting fluids down their neck they carry their own. Date of review: March 8, 2009
