In short: Hard Finish - Big Crowd
In full: Very well organised event plenty of pre race
goings on, plenty of pre race information.
Everything you need in a race but getting the results was a nightmare no info on what site to visit and the links on leeds.gov.uk keep going to a site with no results eventually found results from forum on runnersworld. www.racelive.co.uk not www.ukresults.co.uk

In short: warmer than expected, good event
In full: did the first 2mile leg of corporate challenge. disappointing that numbers were not posted out as long queue to collect and then a rush to get buses. great to be able to see finishers coming in though. maybe full event next year?!

In short: A well organised, enjoyably testing half marathon.
In full: A warm, dry day made this year’s race a pleasant experience after all of the recent rain. All of the hills are out of the way by the halfway point meaning you can settle into a steady pace before the push for the finish.

The organisation was very good with a high quality medal and t-shirt at the finish.

A minor concern about the location of the last but one water point, which seemed to be poorly situated as runners were almost forced into the traffic to get past.

Well done to everyone in the local running community for exerting pressure on LCC to reinstate this event. As we saw on the day this is, a well attended and supported race, which has hopefully found its rightful place on the Leeds running calendar.

In short: Poor Organisation
In full: I was really looking forward to being able to run my first half marathon in Leeds, but was very disappointed with the organisation. The Council has not learnt from feedback over the last two years. The start was chaotic, the location of one of the drinks stations was positively dangerous, two of the drinks stations had packed up before most of the runners reached them, not all roads were closed, and having a corporate relay race running at the same time was sheer lunacy. Plus the route still has all the defincies of the last couple of years. Some people have commented on the route being hilly. There are some sections that are a bit steeper, but these shouldn't cause a problem unless your training has all been on the flat.

Having said all of this I did enjoy running around Leeds, but this was more due to having lived there for 21 years than the organisation of the race.

This could be a fantastic race, but at present it isn't. If the organisation and route were improved it could be great.

In short: No water
In full: Had to stop and queue up for gatorade which was basically so watered down that it had no benefit whatsoever.
Also no water left near the end.
I finished with no energy and quite thirsty.
