In short: Multi terrain – tarmac, shingle, grass, mud & seaweed!
In full:
It was great to run the GSR finishing stretch feeling so fresh!
I found this race quite hard but enjoyable – the format of off and on road worked really well, but I am sure that a lot of PB’s would have been lost in the mud and seaweed on the beach.
Nice friendly Marshalls but I was expecting a water station at mile 6 (the pre-race map seemed to indicate the 3 & 6 mile stations were one and the same) so was really gasping at mile 9. Jelly beans were lovely.
Nice goody bag …………….. thanks for the ice/heat pack

In short: Lovely low key event despite the grey clouds and mud
In full: Its was a nice scenic route but at 9 miles went off road and got quite tough because of all the rain that they had been having. Very well marshalled and organised. Nice goody bag. Wet uneven sand at the end almost killed me and made my legs go lactic casing me to walk last mile but despite this was a great race. Local kids cheering at edge telling everyone to run like Micheal Owen made me chuckle.

In short: Loved the contrast between the fast and flat and the muddy / shingle.
In full: Loved the contrast between the fast and flat and the muddy / shingle. This was my first half so I wasn't sure on the pacing. I was so busy keeping upright on the slippy mud and avoiding puddles that I was totally relaxed in the last 5 miles. And I came home in less than my target time!

In short: Enjoyable, well organised, challenging, loved the jelly babies
In full: Like others I thought mile 8-12 pretty hard going but also did a pb so can't complain and in retrospect enjoyed the challenge although i hurt like hell but might need to train harder? Could have done with extra water station but otherwise really well organised, good job and thank you to Rob and all the marshals.

In short: First half that involved shingle
In full: Overall a nice race, was flying until i hit the mud and shingle but still managed a PB so cant complain. My only gripe would be, they need more toilets and another water station. The jelly babies were nice, so thanks to the marshalls, they do this at reading but they end all over the place, this time i actually had some.

In short: A flat course with interesting bits, well organised, friendly atmosphere
In full: This was very well organized event with some interesting off road mud and soft shingle along the beach and a few rain showers which made for a challenging run. The stewards and marshals did a wonderful job and the bowls of jelly babies went down well along with lots of smiling and encouragement, you all did a great job guys well done!! Thank you Rob

In short: First half marathon, and i picked the right one to start with!
In full: This was my first half marathon and so i was there bright and early with my better half at just past 8am! so had a bit of a wait for the start, but better than being late, as i was stood there nervous as hell, the organizer rob came over and said hello and we had a quick chat which was great as it calmed my nerves and i apreciate it as he was very busy! the people on the run were friendly, and there was no chance of getting lost with all the marshalers, who did a great job and were very cheerful, (plus they had sweets! always a bonus) the route was good with some mud near the end making it more interesting. I dont have any other races of any distance to compair this to, but as far as i can see it was great. Thanks to eveyone involved in planning and running it!
