In short: A great testing course, beautiful scenery, fantastic organization. In full: A lovely race with a testing course especially the last 4 miles, but well worth it. Lots of water/drinks and the sponge stations were a treat Thank you to all the marshalls, brass band and ladies who made the wondeful cakes, my lemon slice was just what I needed. In short: 7th time for me. Need I say more? In full: Top race with lovely touches as outlined by others. The race organisers emails pre & post race were also welcomed. So how can a top race get better? Just keep doing the same!
How about for one year running the race in reverse? Date of review: July 3, 2011

In short: Hot and dusty In full: I really suffered today but it was worth it. The little crowd at 7.5 miles were fantastically noisy ! Plenty of drinks, jelly babies and a decent goodie bag. Will do again next year but I must train properly this time ! Date of review: July 3, 2011

In short: VLM aside this is my favourite race of the year - never disappoints In full: Incredible race with some of the best scenery around, amazing weather, plentiful bottled drinks, great marshalls - I could go on and on. Quite simply nothing is missed to make this a very special race.
Special mention to the marshalls at the 9-mile mark or so who made som much noise you could hear them for quite some time after - very encouraging!
The route itself is a challenge and especially so in the heat - that said I wouldn't swap it for rain. This is one of the few races where you don't tend to rush off once you have finished. How better can it get to finish the race with yet more drinks on offer, plus cakes, than to lay in a nice hay meadow listening to the band while you try to regain some energy.
Thanks to all who put on the race - see you next year. Date of review: July 3, 2011

In short: Exceptional all round. In full: My first time over the full 15 miles and boy, it was tough !
However, it's an absolutely brilliant race and scores top marks for scenery, organisation (loads of bottled water at frequent intervals, lots of encouraging friendly marshalls, plenty of car parking, good race venue ), atmosphere (very friendly, the brass band at the finish is a nice touch) and value ( home made cakes !quality medal and very decent "goody bag").
The organisers really "go the extra mile" with this race and it's the perfect Summer off-road race, but definitely not one to take lightly. Date of review: July 3, 2011
