In short: Top class event from top to bottom. In full: Ok I am a Purple Patch runner so undoubtedly biased. However, considering it was the first ever-running of the race could the organisation have been any better? I've never seen so many marshals and every one was urging the runners on - a real lift when the sun really shone three-quarters of the way round. Plenty of water stops and the combination of a medal and a T-shirt as part of the entry price is an example for others to follow. And in contrast to some events where the beneficaries are private individuals who don't deserve a penny (you know who you are!) this went to a fantastic charity. All round a great day - I ran my fastest half and didn't even mind my running partner caning me by three minutes! Ps the crowd who stood cheering outside the pub (twice!) and the band deserved medals themselves. Date of review: March 22, 2009

In short: \excellent In full: Fantastic race.
Great velue to start and finish. Beutiful riverside scenery all the way along the course. The friendliest most supportive marshalls I've ever come across. The route went past a lovely village pub twice and it provided a great bit of atmosphere on the way out and back because everyone was stood out on the road cheering. And there was a band playing on the way back. Weather weas also perfect. Could this have been better? I think not! THANKS PURPLE PATCH and your marshalls - a really great event. In short: A very well organised event with georgeous scenery In full: A fantastic event that is well worth putting in the calendar. The organisation was 1st class and everyone was very friendly. If there was a negative, it would be that there was no chip timing but that is only a minor grumble. Date of review: March 22, 2009

In short: Awesome race In full: Beautiful scenery, friendly marshals in all the right places, incredible weather, really good organisation from car parking to baggage storage. PB for me (but only 2nd HM) for others the bridges and tow path gates might slow you down. Date of review: March 22, 2009

In short: What a great day out! In full: First running of this event, and it was top notch. Start venue excellent, mixed-terrain and superbly scenic course, cheeriest marshals I've seen for a long time, African musicians at the pub partway round, no queues or delays, supervised baggage stow (which matters to a non-motorist with no car to leave gear in), medal and quality T-shirt. Nothing to find fault with, tbh. The sun was shining and it was a lovely day, but even if it had pelting with rain it would still have been a great race. An exemplary event. I'll be back!
