In short: Enjoyable seaside run with fine support along the way
In full: Good seaside run. run through the town and then along the coast. Wish the results had included the chip place as well as just the gun place as due to the large volume of runners it took some at the back (5mins plus) to pass the starting line. But hey good run anyway-got a pb!

In short: well organised except for the water stations, found it impossible to gulp out of paper cups on the move - will take a bottle next time !

In short: A bit of a slog, but the weather and organisation were excellent!
In full: I'm not a fan of road-running or being able to see the miles to be covered stretched out in front of you without a twist or turn in sight, so I wasn't looking forward to this one - it was just convenient for FLM training. I therefore must commend the organisers for making it much more enjoyable than I anticipated. The marshalls and spectators were friendly, and although at the time I thought the twists and turns on the last 4 miles (which made it look like you only had half a mile to go - alas not!)were a sick joke for newbie runners, it did add to the challenge and I think I would have been bored witless without them! Great PB potential too!

In short: Flat and fast (and crowded in the pack!)
In full: A very well organised race with plenty going for it. I liked the seaside bit best, seeing the pier in the distance was good for motivation. The hill isn't too bad, though it would have been nice to have had a longer downhill once up there!

My second half, and 12 mins quicker that Tunbridge Wells last weekend so must be PB potential!

Would have liked a medal to be honest as a record of my first sub 2hr half. Perhaps one could pay another £1 or so for those who want one?

Liked the random music around the place - more please!

In short: First Timer
In full: This was my first ever half marathon...and if they are all run like this i will be doing many more - i had a great time running round and much quicker than i had expected. Enjoyed the good bag at the end. The advertising of a medal...well i was expecting something slightly more appealing than the dog tags found in the bag...but still a nice momento.

Thanks Sussex beacon.

In short: Fast Half by the Sea
In full: My 3rd year and 3rd pb. Hills seemed harder this year, probably because I had run the first 8 miles harder. The course was more crowded than previous years and there were an awful lot of slower runners to far to the front. I was disappointed there was no medal. As for parking, well parking is free at the Marina car park and you can get in and out of town quickly from there.

In short: Nice run by the sea with cracking support.
In full: 2nd time of running this event and no major gripes. Very well organised on the day and the support (apart from a few drunks in the lanes) was fantastic.
Like the course, weather was almost perfect and ran a pb.

BUT:
1)The website needs some serious attention. The route map would appear to be 2 years out of date and a medal was advertised (not bothered about not getting one but don't advertise it then).
2) More toilets or less entrants please.
3) Had to buy a charity place as I was late entering. My fault so not too upset except I discover that I could have entered on the day for the normal price - not amused.

In short: Good fun this year
In full: Probably because I had a good run I enjoyed it this year. Towards the front it wasn't that crowded as you ran round but i heard grumbles from the pack. 6,000 runners is probably too many to handle. I agree with the medal comments - they are a touch more permanent that a T shirt.

In short: Credit to the organisers and marshalls/volunteers
In full: Very well run race and an ideal training route for those in pre-marathon countdown mode. Fast too - beat my PB by about 6 minutes and I was expecting worse hills than I got. Not sure if I will do it again but will certainly recommend it for beginners. Well done organisers.
