In short: It did what it said on the box - hard graft on a hot day. Very well organised. In full: I did the first but nothing in between and the first Sunday of July was always reserved for the Tanners Marathon but now that has gone to meet its maker ...
Well worth the visit, very hard work on a hot day. And just like the Tanners albeit half distance. Well marshalled, plenty of drinks but I still cannot see the need for runners to throw their bottles away between stops or signs. Someone has to do the route to clear them up due to selfishness or thoughtlessness. Date of review: July 3, 2011

In short: Hot and tough In full: A bit hot and dusty for me, but the organisation was excellent and the entertainment laid on for the kids made it a great family day out Date of review: September 5, 2010

In short: Tremendous! Easy and tough at the same time In full: What a great race. The scenery is idyllic but the climbs are punishing. Loads and loads of drinks stations, jelly babies and sponges! The weather was great this year but heaven knows what this course would be like wet, majorly slippery I would think. The band at the end was very uplifting and the cake a delight. I will be back! In short: A great race In full: The organisers seem to have thought of everything. Make no mistake, this is a tough race and it doesn't get any easier year on year. For long stretches the course is rutted canted and this year as hard as nails. You have to keep your wits about you and hope your legs will last. The hills aren't that bad as 3 out of the 4 are in the road section. Well done Wadhurst Runners. Date of review: July 11, 2010

In short: Folks, I got battered and bruised at Bewl 15. In full: I fell badly in Bewl 15 (just before the fifth mile), I ended up enduring severe pain and limping for the next 10 miles, but boy was it worth it. I would like to thank the six strapping male runners who picked me off the ground and the runner who picked up my bottle of water- they ignored my pleas for them to continue running. Thanks to all the runners for being kind and supportive. Also big thanks to PETTS WOODS RUNNERS Men- they all waited for me at the finish (you should not have). Thanks everyone.
There were plenty of drink stations including Lucozade drinks. The Police were friendly as were the Marshals. A special thanks to the Marshal who walked me back to the car park who was concerned about my injury. The runners were very kind and supportive.
The medal was also nice- a great improvement from my first Bewl 15 medal. The cakes were extremely tasty and the Chip timing was good. The Goody bags were great and the Lucozade Rep was also very good. If anything there could be a few more toilets.
Last year Bewl 15 was ranked 27th in RUNNERS WORLD Readers Top 50 Races 2009 with 70 votes. It looks like Bewl 15 will be voted again as one of RUNNERS WORLD Top RUNNERS WORLD favourite races for 2011.
Martin Burke Race Director and Wadhurst Runners well done, for making me work hard for the 11th Bewl 15 for 2010 Race. “NICE WORK” to you and it was PAINFUL WORK FOR ME.
Ooh Martin, was there a Brass band????
