In short: Better than last year, but crowded, numerous narrow sections and miserable end funnel
In full: Overall better organised than before, plenty of loos and plenty of drinks. Duck boards in the Mem a good idea. However the race was crowded, the mass was reduced to walking pace at numerous points where the road narrowed to a single lane - frustrating when you've got a bit of momentum. While that wont have upset the elites, its a real drag for the masses.
A staggered start time would probably have relieved the congession.

In short: Crowded, pleasant, but too crowded a circuit
In full: 15,000 running was promoted, 11,000 ran and it seemed crowded at points. The end was marred by bottleneck after the race, imagine if it had been wet.
I shall look elsewhere for 2011

In short: My first half-marathon and not a complete disaster!
In full: Sunday's half marathon was my first half marathon, hopefully of many! Having previously run the usual 5k races plus the Great South Run in October, this was the next step in my running career.

It was very cold and there was quite a lot of waiting around at the start. I was in the orange wave and crossed the line 16 mins after the gun so I think that could have been better. Once we got started conditions were good but I was glad of my gloves and merino top! The crowd was good but it was a bit quiet in places. The worst part of the race was the queueing at the end to get medals/goody bags and they ran out of smalls! Overall, though, a good first half marathon experience and I am still buzzing with a real sense of achievement. I feel completely spurred on with my running and have already signed up to a 10k and the Great South Run again for October. Maybe a marathon next year!

In short: The race day was good for us, but the results service is very poor!!
In full: As we have done this several years now, we are familiar with the parking, set-up, etc, so no real problems. Baggage was superb, and we found a whole set of near -empty toilets. all the marshals were extremely helpful and cheery.
