In short: I'm already looking forward to next years' event. In full: Huge thanks to everyone involved - fabulous event. We kept being told we were enjoying it too much, but how can you have too much fun? Ran in road shoes which made it even more fun! Everyone along the way were so friendly and kind. Looked forward to the drinks stations - so we could get another chocolate bar. We ended up fatter than when we started! Brilliant! THANK YOU PAUL & CO. Date of review: October 5, 2006

In short: this was my first marathon, what an initiation. Finished 4.34 and loved it all. Haven't stopped smiling yet. In full: Iwould advise trail shoes. I ran in road shoes and had trouble both up hill and down. Dangerous at times. Beautiful views once you can look up from where you are putting your feet. Shame about the flooded underpass right at the end. Ok if you are 6 foot and water up to ankles, not so good if you are 5.4" and knackered. Date of review: October 4, 2006

In short: Absolutely brilliant. In full: I love the way that we all run together, I used a marathon runner to pace myself over my leg of the relay. Got to talk to some lovely people on route and see spectacular scenery. Date of review: October 3, 2006

In short: 3rd year running, and still a great start to the Autumn off roads. I loved it. In full: By trial and error, we have worked out a fail safe bags/transport/ organization of our own. I felt I had really earned my medal this year.It really is VERY friendly at the back! and great fun. Date of review: October 3, 2006

In short: Excellent race - wet, windy and wonderful. Give it a go next year. In full: This is a great race and well worth doing. The marshals were excellent and the course is well marked. I particularly like the shoe wash in the underpass just before the finish!! I agree with the other people, there must be a better way of sorting the baggage and T-shirts. I queued for over half an hour and then was told I didn't have a bag! ( I did but the tag had fallen off). Thank you to the young lady who helped me find my bag in the end. Well done and thanks to the organisers and marshals. Date of review: October 3, 2006

In short: You MUST do this race at least once In full: This is a classic race, it is beautiful and it has a great atmosphere. The marshalling is fantastic.
I really enjoyed the half marathon - the weather was abysmal, but I think that just added to the fun - you know when there's a point at which you don't care how wet you are any more. We reached that point.
With current regulations and policing costs hitting some road events, you can be sure that this event will just go on and on, which is good news. Date of review: October 2, 2006

In short: A race more against the elements than the distance In full: Those of you with children that have had to listen to them from the back seat of the car ask "are we there yet?" well, the last 2 miles was like that for me. As for the rest of the marathon, what words haven't been used to describe the conditions, organisation and the intrepid marshals and supporters. Well done to everyone involved for making it such a challenging and rewarding day. P.S. Don't forget the ladies who worked miracles with their post race massages, if the popularity of the race increases then there will need to be a few more on hand next year to cater for everyone requiring a massage. In short: all the helpers were very helpful and friendly I had the run run from hell not feeling at all well but all the marshalls helped me finish the race. I'm sure most people would like thank the marshalls and helpers for giving up there Sunday Date of review: October 2, 2006

In short: Highly entertaining and thoroughly exhausting day out. In full: Glorious course to run, and the rain soddened paths churned up by the hundreds of runners ahead of me made for an extremely entertaining time struggling both up and down the slippery hills. The mud, rain and hills conspired to ensure that this would be my slowest marathon yet, by a considerable time, but this did not detracte from a throroughly enjoyable day. Good organisation, superbly marshalled (and all the helpers deserve a very big thank you considering the atrocious weather). This a challenging and fun marathon which makes a nice change from tarmac and traffic. Date of review: October 2, 2006
