In short: Flat and dull, extremely busy with so many runners. Congested finish and couldn't find where to pick up my medal etc. It was just too crowded to see anything. Very cold gusty wind so just wanted to finish and get back to car. Terrible traffic in t

In short: Decent run through mix of resedential, parkland and main roads let down by poorly organised finish line causing massive runner congestion at finish.

In short: It wasn't all bad!
In full: I was really surprised to read some many negative reviews of this race. I must have been very lucky, as I was unaware of all the problems the later arrivals encountered. We drove straight into the car park and parked right next to the start line. I didn't need to use the changing/ baggage areas so can't comment there, although the queues for the portaloos grew rapidly and I definitely think there could have been more. I do think there should have been a better organised start, with time markers to space out the runners better. Overall I really enjoyed this race, and was pleasantly surprised to see a completely different side to Milton Keynes. Definite PB potential, despite the wind. I also hear many struggled to get out of the car parks which is a shame. Hopefully these problems will be sorted next year.

In short: My first half marathon and enjoyed it overall, encouragement by spectators and marshals
In full: Overall an enjoyable race through some pretty parts of MK with good support from marshals and spectators and chip timing. On the negative side traffic problems arriving meant that we just made it to the start line as the race departed and there was chaos getting medals & drinks at the end. Not all of the course was scenic, a fair part of the 2nd half was run alongside dual carriageways.

In short: Could have done with more marshalls and parking was a nightmare!!
In full: Seemed to be a bit short of marshalls on the day. There were particular incidents at road crossing where one runner ended up on a car bonnet. Also, not enough marshalls at water stations.

Took 40 minutes to get out of the car park after the run. Not the best way to finish the day.

In short: A farce but...
In full: I didn't have as bad an experience as some but I had to run to the start from the traffic jam leading into MK (I would have arrived an hour early if the roads were clear). Fortunately I was driven so I could do this. There were no markers for separating up the runners so it was dangerous near the front with slow runners getting in the way and constant overtaking for the first couple of miles. There were a lot of junctions and turnings without marshalls but luckily I could follow whereas there were marshalls in unecessary places often with their backs to the race. I disagree with giving out bottles during races as they can be carried and therefore were dumped all over the place which is bad for the environment and local goodwill.
I last ran this in 2005 and it was much smaller and much more enjoyable, the course remains fast and hopefully they will reduce numbers next year to prevent this year's shambles. I will be back as it is local and quick but yesterday was a disappointment.
