In short: needs better organisation! In full: Rather a lot of money for a very ordinary race .No police to pay for so should have been a bit cheaper! also not many marshalls needed as roads are almost dead straight! I found this a boring run. Expected to return a different way! good p.b. potential if you can overcome the wind. as the route is so exposed it is probably always windy. well done to the marshalls though!start needs to be signposted from the main road-only found the green by sheer luck at the last minute! In short: Windy but Flat PB potential In full: Great Race, looking forward to returning next year, nice to see the organisers already looking to improve the race and the facilitices. lets hope for better weather next year
Got a PB by just under a minute, would have one question mark over the race distance as my gps measured it to be 12.9 miles
In short: Lovely race In full: Bit disappointed M20 closed so was late getting to race. Couldn't find the start as no markings, asked some spectators so think I started at the right place but can't feel I can count my time as not sure if I started at the right place. Other than that a really good race, I found marshalls encouraging and I will be joining in next year. Date of review: March 10, 2008
In short: I am on "Cloud nine" as I beat my previous PB by 6minutes and 3 seconds In full: Taking account of the fact that this was the first race at this venue for a number of years I didn't think the general organisation was too bad. I agree with most of the comments of previous contributors but I'm sure the organisers will take them into account for future years. Of one thing I am completely certain - this is the best chance I will ever get to do a PB at this distance and I will be back next year to do even better!
In short: Fast and flat - as long as the weather is good! In full: Nice friendly race with a simple out and back course. Well organised and great support from the marshalls. Good potential for a PB as long as the exposed route is not suffering from a buffering from the wind (and rain!). Date of review: March 9, 2008
In short: Lydd half- We need more In full: More toilets ( only 2 non flushing ones for females ), more water stations ( only 3, too few for a half and no isotonic options ), more marshal support on the course, more pre race information including a map or directions and more signs to race. In short: facilities poor for this amount of entry fee, mile marking possibly not correct In full: Hopefully a lot of the entry fee goes towards the mentioned charity because facilities were very poor for the runners.Friendly marshalls, a bit busy on the roads, course not very exciting.Weather spoiled perhaps a good ending of the run.
