In short: Well organised race! In full: Great race and run like clockwork. nice course with very mixed terrain, Road, grass, single track and shingle. thought the out and back might have been a problem as it was a bit tight in places but proved me wrong , although in some places on the single track it was easy to get stuck behind slower runners and hold you up a bit but could live with that :-). nice touch with the free grub at the finish and mince pie! would defo do it again. In short: Absolutely superb race In full: Great mixed terrain, brilliant organisation and marshalling and really good value too. We were also blessed with great weather (given the recent snow and sub-zero temperatures) which made for perfect conditions and I got a big PB :) Date of review: December 12, 2010
In short: Really well organised race for beginners and veterans alike. In full: Read the rest of the reviews, they mirror my thoughts. As someone running towards the back, I have a little advice for next year. Get a move on. By the time I got back to Southsea the tide had come in and I got very wet feet (all part of he marathon experience) Its given me the incentive to get the training right for next year so I can finish with nice dry feet. So keep your eyes peeled as I can thoroughly recommend this race and I will expect it to sell out as quickly as London does in the future. Date of review: December 12, 2010

In short: Well organised flat and friendly winter marathon In full: Mainly offroad with varying terrain - gravel, mud, tracks, and seaweed! Interesting views round the marina and Farlington marshes. Fuel stations were well stocked and well spaced - friendly supportive marshalls - (thanks for being out there - it was a cold day to be standing around for several hours!) Flat and easy to follow route. Friendly atmosphere - was nice to get support from the front runners as they passed us slow runners on the return stretch. Appreciated the voucher for a bacon roll and cup of tea at the end. Nice goody bag and medal for the entry fee. All in all a very friendly well organised marathon. Well done!
