In short: Scenic route, shame about the parking! In full: Great warm-up and plenty of info from the comperes before the fog eventually lifted and we all set off at 1.05pm along the slightly crowded Long Walk. It's an undulating course, but nothing too taxing for most runners - one big loop and then one smaller loop before heading back down Long Walk for the final mile.
The marshalls and water station volunteers were great but it would have been good to have had water (and maybe some electrolyte drink) on both sides of the path as it got a bit crowded in parts.
Crowd were smashing, no problems with spectators running across the path, and great fun high (or low-) fiving kids along the way.
The only other grumble I'd have was the management of cars exiting the field; the car park attendants where we were seemed to just be standing around, which meant that a few people lost their minds and weren't waiting their turn to join the queue of traffic. It took us an hour to get out - not great when you're tired and just want to get on the road. Date of review: October 7, 2012

In short: Great place to run, but pretty tough In full: Very challenging course. There are lots of tough uphill sections, but also plenty of downhill sections. Uphill bits defeated me in the end. The one at 8.5 was very tough. Will probably try again one day when I'm more of a seasoned runner. Very tough for beginners. Date of review: October 7, 2012

In short: The hill at mile 8 never gets easier!! In full: This was my 5th time at Windsor. This time I knew I couldn't compete against my PB due to illness and injury so decided to take a slow run and enjoy the scenery and atmosphere. It is a great day out and I really appreciated the course. There are a few hilly parts and the final mile up the long walk, despite being downhill, takes an age. One disappointment this year was that there wasn't any lucozade at the water stations. Date of review: October 7, 2012

In short: Great race in the stunning surroundings of Windsor. The castle just never seems to get any closer on that final mile! Date of review: October 7, 2012

In short: Very Challenging course In full: The hill at the beginning is a killer, the first 5 miles for me where rubbish, lucky at a water stop they had some energy drinks, two of those one after the other gave my body a good kick start! If you love hills and like a challenge this is the course for you. The water stations had plenty of water of lucozade, the down side I found as I was at the back cars where aloud to drive through the park (I think they lived in the park not sure and not care),at one point we had cars on both sides of the road and we had to run around the cars! I also felt sorry for the leaders as they had to run through the slow people at the back as they had done the second lap and we was stil on the 1st lap! Date of review: September 26, 2011

In short: Enjoyable, Challenging traffic free half marathon. In full: Have run this several times over the years. Not the easiest of courses (and usually warm/hot weather)but good support in some areas and the marshalls and large number of runners keep you going. Don't like the 1pm start - has always been 1pm - perhaps organisers could tell us why 1pm not 10am. Date of review: September 26, 2011
