In short: Lovely race In full: The only thing wrong with this race was the only thing the organisers could do nothing about - the heat!! Credit to the marshals, who must have been roasting, but still managed to be happy, friendly and encouraging to hoardes of hot runners. Date of review: May 27, 2012

In short: Best Race I've ever done- hats of to Organizers In full: Quite simply brilliant, yes very hot I started in wave 8 which started at 12.45. Bit hilly but what you'd expect from a trail race, everything was excellent from parking, toilets, registration, marshalls, the route itself, the medal, the goody bag and a free sports massage at the end. what more could you ask for. feel free to check out my full review on my blog http://marathonmorris.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/trailblazer-10k-forest-of-dean.html Date of review: May 27, 2012

In short: Well organised fun event - just a shame it was so hot! In full: Really enjoyed this event even though there was no chance of a PB in the heat. I noticed a lot of people were adopting a walk in the sun/run in the shade stratgy once we hit the hills!
My only mild criticism would be that it wasn't made clear that the water station would have cups of water only. I was fine as I ran with my bottle which the marshall topped up for me. Others didn't run with a bottle thinking they could pick one up at the water station which meant they had to complete the second half of the race in the extreme heat without any water at all.
I will definitely do this event again next year. Date of review: May 27, 2012

In short: Best organised race I've entered to date. In full: This was my first trail race although I've done plenty of 10k's and half marathons before this was a great event a glorious day in fact too hot to be running good job I decided to take a bottle of water from the start without it I would have struggled like a number of other runners I saw out on the course but that maybe to do with the up hill sections which there seemed to be a lot of but thats what I would expect from trail running. Overall it was the best event I've entered smooth access for parking registration was easy all staff at the event were so warm and helpful and informed the village was very good plenty of freebies and the T-shirt and goody bag was the best I've ever had so many people going on that this event is expensive I am happy to pay extra for a great event that puts the runners first and makes the whole experience fun and happy I'll be back for more and hat's off to runners world, rat race and saucony Date of review: May 26, 2012

In short: Plenty of free parking on site, no queues to register, great facilities for runners and spectators, the best freebies I've seen so far. Aid station had chilled water! Course was lovely, shame it was so hot when wave 8 started though! Date of review: May 26, 2012

In short: brilliant organisation, great T shirt and freebies, nice route In full: I loved this race. The staggered race start worked like clockwork and there was plenty in the event village to keep the family entertained. Staff and marshalls were friendly and the route was interesting and challenging. Free T shirt and goodie bad were great- well worth the money- shame the hot weather prevented a PB! In short: Excellent beginner race - but alittle pricey! In full: This was my first trail race and really enjoyed the experience. Brilliant for first timers like me. I am used to running 10K and Half Marathon road races, so didn't really know what to expect on a trail race. But with my new pair of 'trail' trainers, I am definately hooked and will be doing more! Great organisation, plenty of parking, registering was really smooth, quick and simple (no long queues), fab warm-up and great T-Shirt and Goody bag to come away with. Only thing I will say it is a little pricey and I'm not sure whether I would do it again for that reason. Date of review: May 24, 2011
