In short: Wind
In full: My word. Cannot believe the amount of whingeing about the wind and the lack of scenery. Wake up: it's Blackpool in February: it's going to be windy...:)

In fact, the breeze made it more of a challenge and the sunshine and views of the crashing waves were superb. I don't care about goody bags: a drink and a medal are good enough and keeps the entry cost down.

The highlight for me were the Runner's World pacers. I stuck to the 9m mile chap like glue (until the 11-mile mark when he dropped me but then I caught him up near the finish). He dragged me to a PB. So a big thank you. Big thanks also to the marshalls, volunteers and organisers. Will be back next year!

In short: When they say you're doing a loop, they mean you're going over the same spot 4 times. Not particularly sceninc. No signposting to the event.

In short: Well organised and provides a good challenge if the wind blows
In full: To me this is a good solid event. The HQ was good and I even managed to have a pre-race massage. The organisation was good and there was plenty of water stations.

The course isn't very exciting but it is very flat. The course reminds me of links golf, if it is still you will blow it away, if it is windy you will be blown away.

Personally, I dislike goody bags, t-shirts and medals for this type of race. Keep them for the big events and keep these smaller races at a reasonable price.

In short: no goody bag - not even a banana
In full: maybe i have been spoiled doing to many bigger races but i have gotten used to goody bags and t shirts and this race had neither. i suppose at £20 it wasnt as expensive as some races so i shouldnt complain . this race was ok - would possibly do it again?
felt like there should have been at least 1 more water stop and as silly as it seems sports tops on the water is needed when your running- you loose most of your water if you dont have them . i suppose this race was cheap and cheerful enough

In short: flat ish, two lap course not pretty. Alot of wind today (but on coast) expensive for just a cheap medal
In full: Expensive £22 for just a cheap medal only water at end. Did this as it was flat and hoped for pb, didnt count on very strong wind for 8 miles, (But cant blame organizers for that.)Wouldnt choose to do this again as there are better pb courses around, and not good value for money.
