In short: An excellent Half with fantastic support
In full: An excellent, well organised half - everyone who was involved (from the marshalls, to those who looked after our bags, handed us our numbers, gave out the medals etc, etc) was very friendly and encouraging.

Although there were a few slight inclines these were more than compensated by the downhills.

Will definitely do this race again.

In short: The well organised race with great support from marshalls and other workers make taking part a pleasure even for the occasional runner
In full: The good organisation makes it a joy to take part and baggage drop off was a huge success and felt very secure. The marshals who make the race possible must get a big thanks for standing around and giving such good encouragement as well as the workers handing out numbers and taking back chips (for which I was particularly grateful)

In short: Benign conditions for tough route
In full: This is a tough route, an uphill start with no chance to relax on any straight flats until the final part of each lap. Today, at least, the weather was kind to us and the finishing mile is a welcome one. Compared to some much bigger events, this is very well organised in every respect. It also has a very friendly atmosphere. Good value too. Well done David H and the team, I couldn't fault it.

In short: A very well organised half marathon
In full: This is a home fixture for me, I run the route or parts of it regularly throughout the year. So i'm familiar with the hills and the traffic you need to negotiate to get round, and that's where this race really succeeds. There are no road closures, but the fantastic marshalling (they don't have an easy job), ensures runners get around safely without any interruptions to the race.
The undulating nature of the course makes it challenging but not too difficult - there is definate PB potential. Water stations were well placed with bottles, which are always better than plastic cups which spill 80% of the water.
The use of the Woodford clubhouse is also a plus and there was a good selection of reasonably priced refreshments, as well as a secure baggage drop facility.
Decent medal at the finish and a sports drink plus a mars bar in the finishers bag, everything you need really.
With chip timing as well, this is definately a half worth doing.

In short: No frills race- challenging enough to make you feel that you deserve your medal
In full: Very well organised local half marathon. Considering the event takes place on roads that aren't closed the marshals did an excellent job of keeping the runners safe. I wasn't aware this year of any impatient motorists although there may well have been some! I have done this event a few times in the past and really welcome the changes- start and finish on the track, a secure baggage area, chip timing and INSTANT RESULTS! Being able to check the results on the laptops in the club house was a bonus. A decent range of refreshments available in the clubhouse afterwards and a decent goody bag of sports drink and chocolate bar plus decent medal. Excellent. I achieved a personal best this year so am chuffed. The undulations are challenging- especially the second time round- but that just adds to the fun of it. Hope to be back next year. Thanks to the cheery marshalls who make us feel that we can fly when really we must be looking awful!

In full: New baggage drop area not very well staffed or organised, which caused delays to runners gaining good position on the track for the start.Runners again wearing headphones. These runners should be disqualified.

In short: Excellent organisation on a challenging course
In full: It's a couple of years since I last did this race. Organisation was really excellent - a massive improvement. Marshals were great. Only negative were the impatient Chigwell/Loghton car drivers
