In short: Fast course, not as scenic as last year.
In full: Last years course was hillier... yet I ran it ten minutes quicker last year!

Last year there were a lot more bands playing around the course. Not sure why it was quieter this year.

Really enjoyed the race though. Loads of portaloos at the start was good.

According to my GPS I ran 13.2 miles... which is better than last year when I ran 13.35 miles!

Great value for money half marathon and will definitely run again. Though the traffic queues this year were pretty bad... Took me an hour to reach car park B from the M1.

In short: Great for a first timer like me!
In full: Having read the other reviews I can't believe people have said its not that hilly, I'm a first timer and fairly new to running and I really could not believe how flat it was! Thank goodness! It was well organised, the water and lucozade were great. The volunteers were great, I was a little under whelmed with the supporters maybe they were bored to clapping by the time I came past lol. It does make me laugh when people complain about their bags, surely that's not what it's all about?!!! For people who don't know where the money goes road closures are mega expensive and there is the other stuff like portaloos, marquees, postage, the chips, the timers, the carsweeper, the medals, the advertising. I'm not rich but to me £30 seems very reasonable. Would like to think ill be back next year :0))

In short: First half marathon ever, glad I did it in Nottingham!
In full: +++
+ warm up by 3 lovely girls!
+ well organised
+ very nice course, I don't know Nottingham and I liked what I saw!
+ nice medal
+ water pouches; good idea!
+ drum band; great!
+ my girlfriend liked the children race when she was waiting for me (1.49.25! ;)
- - -

- poorly marked (signes too low) and in miles only

Great experience, worth it!

Some people complain about price, I wanted to run in Leicester and was just about to sign up and the price is £50!! NOT DOING IT purely because of it rip off!

In full: New better route. I run this race second time and I was better than last year for 20 min. It was great. I was suprised with water pouches - very good idea to use them during the race. There were lots of Lucosade drinks as well. Marshalls and other staff of the race were very helpful. The Band at the University Campus playing the drums was wonderful. I loved that sound. It helped me running. The only minus at the race was the cost of participation in that competition. 30£ for a race without memorial t-shirt was to much. But next year I hope I will come back here.

In short: Please revert back to old half marathon route!!!!!!
In full: Done this event for a number of years, but probably wouldn't do it again. Course was far too narrow early on and not sure if we all took the correct route in the last mile or so as it involved running across some grass with no markings. What was wrong with the old route? Ok not as flat but far better atmosphere and scenery - all that was missing from the boots site was some tumbleweed blowing across. Later finishers were also given the wrong medals, which I have emailed them about on my partners behalf and 48 hours later still no reply! Looking for a fast easy course this is for you, but otherwise run elsewhere at a cheaper price.

In short: Great Race
In full: Great overall race, great support from the crowds and Police! Supportive Marshalls and helpers..the course was great beside the run around Boots nothing to exciting to look at yet it's part of the route, lets hope the price doesn't increase or it just may put people off.. Thanks to all for the effort they put it.. ;-)

In short: Absolutely fantastic!
In full: Well worth the trip to Nottingham. Lots of crowd support, a reasonably flat course, great organisation, lovely race village with lots to do and buy, and a super medal to all finishers. The race t-shirt which could be bought was of great quality. All in all - a super half-marathon.

In short: Pricey but probably worth it
In full: I last ran this race on the 'old' course in 2004. The new route is not as scenic but at the end of the day it's a race not a stroll so I'm pleased with the new route as it's flatter.

Organisation was generally excellent and I thought the water pouches were a nice idea though a few people were a bit too heavy handed and ended up soaking fellow runners!

The only issues I had were runners repeatedly cutting corners which should have been taped off. Also I'm pretty sure that the end of the out-and-back section by the river between 12 and 13 miles was taped incorrectly

For £30 the goody bag was less than generous and should really have included a t-shirt. Medals were nice though.
