In short: Hellrunner is back to it's very best In full: This was my 3rd year of doing it, 2009 was very hard and approx 11 miles, 2010 was poor as advertised as 10-12 miles but was only 8 ish. So to do 11 miles this year and some parts through a new course was excellent, and refreshing. The bog's were deeper and the hills steeper. And rather than it being cold it was very warm which was challenging in itself. All runners were very chatty and everyone was helping each other through the bogs and up the hills. Another wather station would have been great, thats really the only bad thing i can say, and car parking this year was brilliant. And i got myself a red rubber ducky so won a prize! Well done Trail Plus for organising a great race...my favourite race of the year!

In short: Fantastic race! In full: This was my 1st Hellrunner experience and I wasnt disappointed! It was a really really fun race. Great mix of terrain, the bogs were insane - I doubt Ive ever smelled so bad! Finishing in the 'Bog of Doom' was hilarious!! I would certainly recommend wearing old clothes/shoes - optimally stuff that you could just throw away afterwards - your white shoes will never look the same again!!! Nice goodie-bag with good tech t-shirt. My only suggestion would be an extra water-station. 1 really didnt feel like enough and theres no way you can keep a water bottle clean going through the bogs.... Over-all I loved it and would definitely do it again! Date of review: September 12, 2011

In short: Second time in Hell In full: 2009 I ran this race it was hard. Second time 2011, didn't disapoint! It was hard, Smelly, muddy... At one point we wanted to give up, but we carried on... So Glad we did now. This was harder (hills of hell were HELL) I even seen men cry. Im a softy road runner, but this race will be the making of you. One major grype.. MORE WATER STATIONS PLEASE. First and last one was at miles 7. Not good when you are about to collaps with dehydration. We heard a cheer when we approached the water station. Other than that, top race and we will be back for more Hell! Date of review: September 12, 2011

In short: Great race again, and better organised than last year In full: This was my second Hellrunner and I'm glad I came back for more! Much better idea having the races on separate days, it meant the course was longer so I felt that I got my money's worth! Parking was well organised this year too. It's a fun race with a great atmosphere, I wouldn't dare tackle it as a beginner because it is very tough and I regularly train on hills but there is a good mix of abilities so if you're brave enough I would highly recommend it. I intend to do it again next year! Date of review: September 12, 2011

Great way of handing out spot prizes, although does suit faster runners. Date of review: September 12, 2011
