In short: First 1/2 marathon, enjoyable, see you next year
In full: My first organised run for over 20 years... Marshalls were great and very encouraging, as were the couple of nuns at about half way! V friendly, top goodie bag and I would recommend.

In short: Friendly run but a very urban route with little to see, lots of side roads to cross
In full: All seemed quite well-organised. There was no one marshalling at a key turn at mile 12, but I pointed this out to the team and they sent out replacement marshals straight away. It was a fairly dull route, despite a couple of pleasant sections alongside (but not in) Epping Forest. There are a lot of well-marshalled road crossings plus more alarmingly you have to cross a great number of side roads. Generally flat with one monster hill after mile 11. Lots of friendly water stops. Fancy t-shirt in the goodie bag.

In short: Excellent trip round the borough
In full: I really enjoyed this race. It was my first half marathon so had little to compare it to, but really friendly atmosphere, good organisation and plenty of marshalls - no chance of getting lost which I was worried about before hand. As a local resident I was a bit disappointed the route didn't take in any of our wonderful parks, or paths through Epping Forest itself - you get an urban view of the borough - not my normal running grounds where a long weekend run can take me 10 miles with barely seeing a main road.

In short: Enjoyable, with room for improvement
In full: Pros: friendly, laid back, good local support, great goody bag.
Cons: inaccurate/non-existent mile-markers, no marshall or signage for last left turn at about 12 miles, all road, no forest.

Amazing support from the woman who appeared at 5 different support points - you are a star! Thanks to all organisers, marshals, locals who came out - a good event. Next year - could we have some of the route in the greener spaces? Also would it be possible to sort the mile markers out?

In short: My third year doing this great, friendly, local race. It gets better every year.
In full: +1 for the creme egg which is an excellent recovery snack :-)
Great friendly marshalls, and it was really nice this year to have some local support on the route, which has been very sparse for the last couple of years.
I shall definitely be back again next year

In short: Excellent organisation, would recomend
In full: This race was very well put together. The organisation was second to none! Given that this race was heavily trafficked with a lot of roads to cross, I was a little concerned prior to the race but the Marshall's were excellent and the safety of the runners was clearly paramount. I found the course interesting and made a change from long stretches of road/ country lanes. Very generous goody bag. I will definitely be back next year.

In short: Interesting urban course, very well organised & great marshals. Pavement running provided a novel pdestrian hazard!
In full: As I am recovering from calf & ankle injuries & my daughter was running her first half marathon, this seemed a good run which wouldn't be too challenging. It is quite up and down, but there are no killer hills, though running on pavements with sometimes rather unhelpful pedestrians was a novel experience. However, the organisation was brilliant & every single marshal helpful, friendly & encouraging - a special thanks to the Tiger. And a generous goody bag too!
