In short: A fabulous experience all round In full: This is my second time taking on this challenging but hugely rewarding course and I found it just as tough as the first time!! Hats off to the organisers and incredibly supportive and friendly marshals for putting on such as a professional and well run event - the locally produced ice creams and beer at the stunning seafront finish just add the icing on the cake. Come on ...... if you haven’t run this race before then I thoroughly recommend you give it a try. Date of review: September 21, 2013
In short: Views are worth the pain In full: First time doing this race and also marathon...wouldn't recommend for a first marathon unless you're also up for a real challenge! Very well organised and marshals were on point to direct and motivate at the same time. Experienced new levels of pain but when you're walking up the steeper hills, turning around and looking back at the views makes everything worth it. My only suggestion is maybe a toilet available at least 1 or 2 areas in the race. Date of review: September 21, 2013

In short: Everything an offoad marathon should be. In full: Challenging, scenic, friendly, hilly, varied, well organised, great goody bag, t-shirt and medal, tons of marshalls. What more do you want in an off road marathon. Many thanks for all those involved. Date of review: September 18, 2013
In short: Organisers, marshals and volunteers were marvellous, thank you, and the course is challenging and stimulating In full: This was my first marathon, inspired by my son running last year, so I now have a PB at the age of 65! I ran over 900 miles in preparation - starting as a complete beginner - and survived unscathed until the 21 mile mark at Corfe Castle. Then I went from targeting a 5-hour finish to wondering if I was able to finish at all. Oddly going up Nine Barrow Down was okay but the last three miles, mainly downhill, were my downfall and I staggered in nine minutes late. The great reception and local goodies (ice cream and beer) quickly revived me. It was also a great sponsorship opportunity, to the benefit in my case of the Garden Route (South Africa) Children's Trust. Thank you Rose and the team. I will do it again if Rose and my wife allow me! Date of review: September 18, 2013
In short: If you like running, you NEED to do this run! In full: Fantastic on every level, correspondence pre- run, friendliness of team on arrival, organisation, marshalling, volunteer support - WOW! Even in the horrendous weather conditions of this year, they cheered, clapped and encouraged you on. Hills? Loads and big, up and down, but ... Then you've the scenery, spectacular! Challenging? Oh yes, but worth it. Blown away by every aspect of this outstanding marathon. Date of review: September 18, 2013
In short: Just a fantastic race In full: lets face it. when you do a marathon you want to feel relaxed at the start, enjoy the atmosphere of the race and sprint for the line and do a 'lion roar'. This race has all of that including the roar in spades. I always look out for the race with a difference. last year i did the dart 10k swim this year i feel for this. There is just one word to use 'wonderful'
Big thank you to all the helpers, marshals, sweat givers and the general support. This event will grow Date of review: September 18, 2013
