In short: A great new event – interesting course, well organised and a nice friendly atmosphere. In full: I particularly liked the course – flatish to start, then a fairly gentle climb to the Gibbett (apart from the last bit) then a fast (but not too steep) descent. Psychologically appealing in that most of the hard work is in the first half and as it’s mainly on country roads and gravel tracks, I wasn’t held up anywhere or hindered by the bumpy stuff. Well organised – all the bits that mattered were right. Generous goody bag and beer at the finish. Date of review: June 2, 2012

In short: Excellent new race, very friendly. In full: I know you're looking for feedback, so there are a couple of things I'd change: if you follow the road signs to Inkpen you believe you're there when you get to the Swan Inn, which is apparently actually in Lower Green and a couple of miles from the start, so a few arrows for drivers from there please; also, another water station around the 4K mark would be grand. I thought the Gibbet would be tough, but actually the evil hill is around about 2.5 to 4.5K and my throat was parched even on a cool damp day, on a hot one people would be in trouble. Other than that the race was truly top notch. Lovely people, genuine support, chatty marshalls, fabulous countryside, cheery runners. My littlun enjoyed the park and saying hello to all the dogs. I enjoyed the birdsong and wildflowers, the long downhill and the beer at the end! Date of review: June 2, 2012

In short: Well organised and friendly event, will definitely enter next year In full: having been to the gibbet in the past i know this run would normally have amazing views over the countryside, unfortunately there was thick mist today and you couldnt see a thing. This may well have helped as you couldnt see how much more of the hill you had to climb. The atmosphere was very good, a friendly bunch and a good mix of abilities. Loved the two cocks beer that was supplied at the finish - nice touch, I'll be back for more next year! Date of review: June 2, 2012

In short: Super local race with a bit of a challenge! Brilliant In full: Lovely small and friendly race, well signed & marshaled route - what goes up does go down thankfully - the hill is challenging but not impossible. Great to see this back in the racing calendar - look forward to next year Date of review: June 2, 2012
