In short: Nice event, some aspects need fine-tuning In full: Negatives: Paying extra on top of an already expensive entry, for doing so online Having to get into the narrow start funnel waay before the start of the race - or else risk having to fight through lots of slow-moving traffic; meant I couldn't do a proper warmup. Confusing signs near the finish due to the race being staged at the same time as the 5K Not enough portaloos - though other toilets were available if you knew where to look (or were desperate enough) There was some kind of cockup over the chip timings which meant that neither they nor the full results were available till the next day. In the meantime, attempts to get some public response out of BTRLiverpool as to what had gone wrong & when results could be expected met with stony silence....even if they weren't to blame as they claimed, it gave the impression they had something to hide. Plus points: Nice scenic venue, no significant hills, a few little drags Lots of support all round the course, made for a good atmosphere Course was convoluted but no real sharp bends and personally didn't encounter any issues with the roads being too narrow for 2 way traffic. Overall, could certainly be persuaded to return if the above concerns are taken seriously Date of review: May 20, 2013
In short: Top 10k race In full: Beautiful setting for great race . Organised really well . Plenty of car parking . No trouble with loo's . Agree that start was a bit chaotic but most races are . Date of review: May 20, 2013
In short: An annual must-do race for me. In full: Picturesque village, plenty of parking, flat course, lots of support, and good food / visitor options afterwards. Agree with previous review re bottlenecks around the course - starting pens would be a good idea. A great day out for runners and supporters. Date of review: May 19, 2013
In short: Very good - some room for improvement In full: Very enjoyable race. Pre & post race organisation was excellent.
The course is quite narrow and twisty and there were several bottlenecks around the course.
Despite running a fairly slow time I was overtaking people all the way to the finish.
There were several people at the front who were walking the whole route and causing a traffic jam.
Maybe next year ask people to predict their finish time and stand by the appropriate time posts at the start i.e. seed the runners. This might reduce the bottlenecks next year. Date of review: May 19, 2013
