In short: Not for the faint hearted, but an excellent race that should hopefully grow into an integral fixture in the race calendar
In full: Matt Ward has organised yet another great race. This was my first attempted at a trail marathon, and I knew I had bitten off more than I could chew after 5 miles. The support staff at the water stations were incredibly friendly and gave amazing support to the hardy souls who stopped for a drink and a chat. I would recommend the race to anyone who is interested in trail running

In short: Breathtaking scenery , tough but aren't all the best trail races ?
In full: Have to admit I was really excited about competing in this marathon . Not for the fact of getting a fast time but for the challenge and the breathtaking route that it promised.

It certainly lived up to it's name in both departments without a doubt the hardest race I have competed in but the scenery made up for all of that if your after a fast time then this one is not for you . If it's a challenge coupled with a fantastic route then this one is up there with the best in my opinion .

As for feedback on what could be improved well it would have been better to not double up in places but I realise that this was out of the control of the organisers due to the weather . Some more marshals and a few more mile markers especially towards the end would have been good .

All in all though a great event well done to everyone involved I look forward to competing again next year . I may have to enter just to get that goodie bag again that was a real treat .

If you love the Snowdonia Marathon then you will love this one .

In short: Fantastic run in beautiful Coed and Brenin
In full: The course is a privilege to run. It goes through the beautiful mountains and forests of Coed and Brenon. It takes you through on the trails, mostly, with a few techinical sections through the trees. The organisation and running of the event is superb; the communication, timings, course, plentiful feed stations and masses of signage - all through the run I was 100% confident I was on course. I'll be back next year.
