In short: not a flat piece of road in sight!
In full: Glorious views throughout the whole route. really warm and friendly support. excellent marshalling, encouraging and positive. and you star\finish at a brewery! result!.
The hills are an absolute killer though. if you're not running up you're running down, no respite at all....but i suppose that's part of the challenge, ( would set that expecation when advertising for next year.). I ran Windermere marathon last year, and this was a heck of a lot harder.
My only suggestions for organisation improvement would be the muster at the start, as it was 1/4 mile away, no one appeared to get people together in good time and people were still milling around the brewery a few minutes before the scheduled start. Also, you need to look into some road closures, from 23 to 25 it was pretty hairy with traffic (esp large trucks and fast bikes).
Overall though, a cracking event. Well done to everyone involved.

In short: lancaster castle marathon???? seen the castle from 2 miles away!
In full: the scenery really was good - its nice to lift ur head now and again to take it all in. for a marathon that was ran through the middle of nowhere the people who came out to support us all really do deserve the medals - good on u'z. i would do this again however i wouldn't put it at the top of the list as a must do.

the route was hard, some big hills, mile 18 was a killer. the price was steep considering there was no traffic control or road closures. a real lack of information before the race - its the first time i've drove to a race not 100 percent sure it was even on (all i got was 1 e-mail with a time and place!).

In short: Windermere Marathon is flat compared to this.
In full: A very challenging yet rewarding run. The hill at mile 18 was a killer. I've said I wouldn't do it again, but that's purely because I found it way too difficult. There was a high proportion of no shows, don't know if that's because the organisers changed the route a few weeks beforehand to make it more difficult. Would probably be a better event with at least some road sections closed.
