In short: Really enjoyed the run. The hills were a challenge but I still managed a PB.

In short: Challenging but a great fun atmosphere
In full: This was my second half marathon, did run to the beat last year and enjoyed it but this race was much more scenic and welcoming. Knocked five minutes off and was very pleased I did a lot of hill training. Loved going pasted all the country villages and pubs all supporting really well.

In short: A great 2nd year!
In full: I was worried about how year 2 would pan out for the Basing half, but it didn't disappoint.

Great Crowds on route, Cliddesden looked heaving with people, but lets not forget the others in the more remote places stood in pairs or even on their own watching.

Great event, well organised and still had that friendly feel. bring on next year.

In short: Other Halves Take Note!
In full: In just its second year, the Basingstoke HM is one of the best organised races I have done. From the regular Facebook entries leading up the race, to the slick running of the event on the day, you get the feeling that they know what they are doing and more importantly care about it too.
This will become one of the major events in the South I have no doubt. Thanks to all the marshals, and the good people of Basingstoke for the brilliant support!

In short: My very first half-marathon, was a fantastic experience and am definitely encouraged to do another
In full: Was a bit apprehensive at the beginning as I had no idea about general protocol at these things; however organisation was good and it was obvious where I needed to go and when so there was no stressing on my part.
Lovely scenic route, shame about the fog, but it was wonderful and peaceful. There were some hills, no one could deny that! But, the whole warm and fuzzy feeling I got from being in the race kind of levitated me up them.
Lovely to see supporters at some points round the route, they really put a smile on my face.
Good signage and water stations, marshalls were brilliant.
Finish line well organised, no faffing about and then plenty of room to circulate afterwards without getting in anyones way.
I had a thoroughly good day and a 260 finish position was more than i hoped for.

In short: Explore the Basingstoke Alps on this rural hilly adventure.
In full: Slick organisation from Filicity, Nina and the Team. Super facilities at the race start, no waiting for toilets, fast bag drop, great catering, super marshalls and well supported by enthusiastic locals, what more could you ask for. Dispel all thoughts of the usual tedious town centre half going through boring streets, this race quickly gets onto lovely (closed) country lanes for a hilly adventure. This is my fav local race and its a real credit to the Destination Basingstoke team. Very proud of you all.

Thanks a million
