In short: Excellent race In full: Unfortunately the foggy day meant we did not get to enjoy the views to the full. Undulating course, no really big climbs. One request would be to have more jelly babies, so at every drinks station. Thanks to the organisers and all the marshalls. Date of review: October 9, 2012

In full: What a marvellous event !! Was my 35th marathon - 13th this year and entered it on a whim only a few weeks ago. Was suffering from a head cold and a bit daft really to do it but it seemed churlish not to having paid and offered a lift to a fellow running pal! Park and ride did concern me initially but no way, it worked extremely well. The route was tough as already stated but just such lovely countryside. At one point I had stopped on a bridge to look at the river and swans, not realising there was a photographer at the other end, so, my 'running' picture will be of me gawping into the distance at the lovely scene. Could be one I'd actually purchase. Having done quite a few maras now I can honestly say this one was the best marked, best marshaled ever. Every turn and corner was so well signed and as many as possible had a cheering / clapping marshal there to see you on your way. Great atmosphere as well and what a wonderful crowd at the finish. I came in 10 mins under 5 hours and thought there must be a celeb behind me with all the cheering !! Good to have such support. A wonderful event and am glad I dragged myself out of my sick bed - am happy to report that it sorted my cold out once and for all. Many thanks Clarendon. I will be back !! In short: Superb run, great scenery to take your mind off the mud and climbs In full: Really enjoyable scenic trail marathon. I found it really tough but it is only the second marathon I have done. Wonderful rolling down land countryside. Some great views. Spot on marshalling. Only minor nighle not much food on offer. Could. Have done with some more bits like biscuits to scoff down. In short: Who knew pain could be so much fun! In full: Plumped for the full distance as opposed to the half I did 2 years ago. 16 miles of great running followed by 8 miles of cramp induced hell!
Despite it all, a great event. The course is very picturesque (if a bit lumpy when you get past half way), marshalls and event staff couldn't be more helpful and the finish is well organised with water, bananas and gift packs efficiently distributed.
Park and ride is a doddle - very well managed.
Overall really good day out - even if it did hurt. Date of review: October 8, 2012

In short: After a year's break, well organised, as before. I had forgotten how many hills there were, particularly in the second half, but did a reasonable time, despite the mud. Very friendly runners and marshals. Date of review: October 8, 2012

In short: Lovely In full: This was a very well organised event, everything just worked. Lots of support for a rural route, and heaps of marshals to keep you on the well marked course. Congratulations to the 'new management' it was brilliant. The course is tough, but more undulating than hilly. You are constantly on the climb or descent, but none of it is that brutal. I was left with a very satisfied after glow from this race. Highly recommended. Date of review: October 8, 2012

In short: tough In full: my first time doing this one fantastic organisation from the buses to the start line to the bus at the end back to the car.All the marshals did a fantastic job,and the well done handwritten on the goody bag was a very nice touch. The race itself was quite tough with a lot of climbing towards the end but very friendly.I would not wear trail shoes on this one again as there was a lot of road and solid trail paths, where there was mud it was deep and slippery and i saw a few fallers. But overall a race that i would recommend doing at least once. In short: glorious scenery, tough hills, great support...AWESOME!!! In full: There is no better way to experience the glorious Hampshire countryside than running in a race like this. I felt brilliant all through the race; the mud and hills made it tough but well worth it and the volunteers were amazing. Nice support running through the villages and a nice medal and goody bag at the end. Not for the faint hearted...which makes it even better :D Date of review: October 7, 2012
