In short: A Fantastic Race - Shame a one off
In full: Being local, I always wanted to do this race, even though it was only 3 weeks after Loch Ness marathon! What can I say, Great Yarmouth Road Runners put on a terrific marathon. Organisation superb, free car parking, changing facilities good and an excellent route. As a Norfolk lad, having visted Yarmouth more times than I can imagine, I was struggling to figure out how they would put on a marathon route, but can up with an ideal 3 lap route. Yes weather was not good at times, however, I dried out and really enjoyed. The biggest positive for me was the MARSHALLS. I have raced in over 50 races since 2008 and have never expereinced support from the likes of these guys who stood out there for hours in the wind and the rain. They were just brilliant and if it was not for them and Ian Breeze who i meet on the forum for this race. I would not have achieved a PB, 4 hours 50 mins, always want to duck the 5 hour mark and I ran every single step of the way. Nice to be part of GYRR's history and its a real shame it was just a one off! Well done all who were involved.

In short: Fantastic fun despite the weather
In full: Anoher well organised event by Great Yarmouth Road Runners. There was great support and encouragement by the many volunteers despite the drizzle and the wind. Thanks to all those involved in this one off event, well worth braving the weather for.

In short: A long day, but fantastic fun
In full: Speaking as a marshal and a member of GYRR, i would like to thank all the runners who came from all over the UK, for making our day very special. Although we did not get the weather right, thank you all for saying that we got everything else right. Your praise makes all our hard work worthwhile

In short: Excellent race - pity it's a one-off
In full: Although the 3 laps were quite tedious, particularly into the wind and rain, the marshals were brilliant and there were lots of spectators (probably mostly for the 10k) in the middle parts of each lap. The bit of lap round the docks area wasn't nice, more mentally tough than physically. I would do this again though, if they decide it's not a one-off. Well done GYRR

In short: Well organised by GYRR, support from spectators, marshals and passers-by.
In full: Well organised event, great support and encouragement from spectators and the many volunteers. Thanks to all the marshals giving up their day to stand in unpleasant conditions. Well done to all those involved!
