In short: Potential to be a great race
In full: Very well organised race apart from one issue - the course was closer to 9k than 10k, (as at one point runners were sent in the wrong direction). However on a positive note great support from the people of Bradford / great marshalls and volunteers, good value for money and a good course. I would definately do this race again, although clearly the organisers will need to ensure that the direction markings are clearer next time.

In short: good run for a first timer pity about the marshaliing error
In full: first official 10k for me, they have to do better next year with marshaling and closing roads , but a good course overall.

In short: Need to do better, next year
In full: This has the potential to be a very good event and I liked the undulating nature of the route, but this race was badly let down by the marshalling error that resulted in a short course. The "professional" event organising company hired to stage this race must be very embarrassed. My wife and I did a 105 mile round trip to run a certified 10k and feel rather disappointed we could not test ourselves over the correct distance. Could have done a fell or trail race instead today if we weren't looking for a 10k.

In short: So dissapointed
In full: First race back after injury. Travelled from Lincolnshire, paid for a hotel, ran my little legs off and for what? nothing as the course was short! I feel like a fraud putting my medal on display as didnt actualy run 10k. What a complete waste! I am gutted! The positive; it was marshalled well, the course was good and a positive atmosphere.

In short: Decent route, shame it didn't stretch to 10k!!
In full: This was a decent run through the outskirts of Bradford city centre. It is certainly a more interesting route than the Epilepsy Action 10k route along Canal Road. There was a good mix of serious and fun runners which is always good to see. The 10k run was well supported runner wise, which probably explains why the excellent 1/2 marathon of last year was replaced by this. I would love to see the half return but if this is a permanent replacement and they actually make it 10k I may do it again.

In short: Whoops !
In full: Wow a PB and all those hills - no wait actually it was 1k short - whoops. Good job the medals didn't have 10k on them otherwise we would all be cheats!

Shame really as it was a great morning and well organised (other than the obvious mistake!)

In short: Do not ask for Marshalls on Facebook...this is what happens
In full: Positives £10 is good money for a 10K with chip timing..the collection of chips was superb.

Here goes..you do not have a race of a 1000 runners climbing steps at the start going and going over raised reservations in a dual carriageway having to dodge and weave traffic calming measures and a couple of car park barriers was a chuckle too...also if you advertise as a 10K it would help if you direct folk around a full 10K course not 8.5km..could be a product of advertising for marshalls on facebook...oops not enough lets shorten the race..If I had spent £40 on petrol and come over from the east coast like a lot of runners did i would be a bit miffed..also intended penning of runners didn't happen as the signs were lying on the floor unused...Couldn't hear the race brief which was crucial to split the 5 & 10k races to, kind of important...won't be back.

In short: Generally very good (just one unfortunate issue)
In full: Overall, a really nice run. City Park is a great venue for the start/finish - contributed to a great atmosphere pre and post race. Good mix of flat and climbs to maintain interest.

Does look like there was an unfortunate course malfunction - just checked my actual route vs the one on the website, and I (and lots of others) missed a turn....seems one of the turns wasn't marked, so a lot of people ended up doing a 4.25km lap, and not a 5km lap. Bit of a shame, but I still really enjoyed the run nevertheless.

In short: Lots of good things, one very bad thing...
In full: Rapid distribution of chips at the start, plenty of room for running round to warm up, friendly and encouraging marshals all way round, nothing too exerting on the course, nice mixs of long steady ups and a few sharp up and downs. Medal might have at least had a date on it, though fortunately it didn't have a distance on it - because the very bad thing is that we were sent the wrong way at one point - either that, or I knocked 7 minutes off my PB!
